[Sayaka stared at Kyoko, then.]

- Oh, come on - You can't do that!

[And that was when Madoka shook her head, then, and stood up.]

- No, Sayaka - I wouldn't let you just shut yourself up in here.

[And then, she glared at her.]

...You don't want me to make a Contract with Kyubey just so I can pry you out of here, do you?

[One of the Kyubeys chuckled at that.]

- Personally speaking, I wouldn't mind that at all, actually, buuut...

...Oh, shut up!

[Kyoko said, and stomped on the Kyubey, who just laughed as he was stomped. The other Kyubey didn't look very happy about this, though, Madoka notes with some surprise.]

- So...what do you expect me to do, Madoka?

[Sayaka said, grimancing. Madoka sighed, then, and walked up to her.]

...There's no reason you can't come out of here to go to school, or do normal stuff with your family, or stuff like that, right? You can stay here when you're doing your homework, or when you're sleeping, if you need to stay in here to - to recharge or anything.

[And then, Madoka went up and put her hand on Sayaka's arm, shaking her.]

What do you think your parents are going to feel like if you just disappear?

- And how do you think I'm going to feel? Eh? I bet you didn't think of that at all!

[Sayaka sighed] "I know Madoka, and I'm really sorry...but,"
"then you've got to come back!"
"I can't..."
"yes you can! It will be all right!"
"I'm going to become a witch!" [Sayaka raised her voice, looking distraught now] "that's the truth of it! It happened to Miku, andd it's going to happen to all magical girls! Don't ypou get it! It's not going to be all right! And there's nothing that can be done about it!"[She pushed Madoka away] "I don't want to hurt anyone when it happens! That's why I've got to stay here! And don't you dare make a wish to fix me, then you'll be in the same boat!"
"Sayaka...."
[Mami froze, looking up form her mini witches] "Sayaka, don't tell me you believe that tripe now, magical girl becoming witches...

[Sayaka looked at Mami and groaned.]

- Oh, Mami...

[And that was when Rin came over to where they were talking.]

- Look, you can believe what you want, Tomoe, but the truth isn't going to change, I'm afraid.

[And then, she motioned Sayaka and Kyoko to follow her away for a couple of meters. Madoka looked at Mami, and groaned - What now?]

...Look, first, I think we should introduce ourselves. I'm Kagamine Rin, and that's my brother Len over there.

[Rin pointed to her brother, who was currently holding a tiny negi-shaped keyholder in front of Mini-Elly, and waving it. She saw her wipe some tears from his eyes with his sleeve, and turned away, biting her lip. Damn, there was no time now for all those frigging emotions.]

[Sayaka and Kyoko looked at each other, and introduced themselves, haltingly. Rin nodded, and looked at both of them.]

- Good to meet you, Miki, Sakura.

[And then, she turned to Sayaka with a sigh.]

...Look, Miki Sayaka, your pink haired friend has a point, I think. Shutting yourself up in here is not going to actually gurrantee that you don't go Witch, and you really should try to keep as much as your ordinary life going as possible in the meanwhile.

[And then, she rubbed at her head.]

- Girls who keep up their ordinary life and keep contact with their family and friends who aren't Magical Girls do seem to last the longest, you see...

...I mean, you don't want to go Witch even faster because you miss your family and friends so much, and end up trying to drag them into your world, right?

[Kyoko looked at Sayaka, then.]

- I think...she may have a point. I mean, if I had a chance to spend more time with my parents and little sister, even a little while...

[And then, she took a deep breath, and patted Sayaka's arm.]

...Look, I'll take care of things if it looks like you're actually going Witch first, OK?

[And then she gave Sayaka a wane grin.]

- As long as you promise to return the favor, of course! Things like this should go both ways, after all...

[But sayaka just glared at Rin] "Who do you think you are, huh. You don't know me! You don't get to tell me any of that!"
"Woah, hey, calm down!" [Kyoko grabbed sayaka's arm]
[Mami meanwhile was fretting. No, Sayaka couldn't be right! But now that she thought about it, the clues seemed to be pointing to... she turned to Kyubey, her face white]
"Kyubey...Is this, true?"
[Kyubey just calmly licked his paw] "I won't deny it."
"B-but how,,, why... "
"Becoming a witch is the next stage for a magical girl, once her soul gem completly darkens and forms into a grief seed. Magical girls defeat these witches, collect their energy, and I use it to power the universe. That's the cycle."
[Mami sank to her knees, shaking] "Kyubey... H-how could you... I thought you were my friend."
"I am, by the factors of the term. I just lack the ability for the strange notion of compassion."
[Mami was sobbing now] "if it's our fate to become monsters... then we might as well just die, now..." [Shepulled out her rifle and pointed to the other girls, planning to end them, then herself. She was about to pull the trigger, when Bebe jumped up and pulled the rifle down]
"Mami!!!"
[mami paused. It was sqeakier now, but how could she have not recognized that voice from Bebr?" ...Nagisa?"

[Mami, in the meanwhile, had slowly looked around her. She caught sight of a Kyubey looking at her from under a seat, and went up to him.]

...Kyubey. Is it true that Magical Girls turn into Witches?

[The other Kyubey opened his mouth, but then, the Kyubey she'd first talked to gave gave the other one a look, and he backed down.]

- Sometimes, yes, things like that do happen, I must admit.

[And then, he hopped up to her.]

...That doesn't mean it has to happen to you, though, Mami. I mean, I've known a lot of Magical Girls, and many of them didn't even come close to turning into Witches themselves!

[Mostly because they died early, but this Kyubey wasn't going to mention that, nope.]

- Oh.

[Mami said, and then, she buried her head in her arms. Bebe and Butterfly. came up to her, and chittered at her, softly.]

...OK, Bebe, Butterfly. I'm - I'm gonna be OK, all right?
