Re: The continuation of Path 2 3/3

...And my name is Rinako, not Rikako! Really, Mami-san...

[Mami's Aunt huffed on her way out of the room - And then, she paused. Rikako, Rikako, she'd heard of that name before...]

[And then, Rinako scowled as she realized something. They did have a relative in common called Hashimoto Rikako, now that she thought about it. Damn it, was Mami planning to ask that woman to be her legal guardian or something?]

[She quickly walked out of the door, then. She'd have to discuss things with her husband again, that was for sure...]

[Mami, in the meanwhile, was groaning. Great, she'd just had to go and call Auntie Rinako "Rikako", had she now. What an idiotic way to let the cat out of the bag!]

[And then, she turned back to the lawyer and Nagisa with a sigh.]

...It's OK, Mitsurugi-san, Nagisa-chan...

[And then, she looked around them.]

- And now, I'll serve us all some tea, and we can all calm down. All right?

[About 15 minutes later, Mami had all served them tea and cakes from her extra tea kit she kept in her lawyer's office.]

...I think...I think those people must have been the nasty relatives who tried to trick my parents when they opened their cheese shop.

[Nagisa said morosely, and nibbled at her cheese cake.]

[Mami blinked.]

...Your parents owned a cheese shop, Nagisa-chan?

- Well, it was halfway a bakery, I think, but yeah.

[Nagisa sighed.]

- This was back when I was little, so I don't remember much of it at all, but my father and mother had worked really hard to get enough money to make their shop, but they still hadn't gotten enough, so they tried to borrow some moeny from some rich relatives. But then, the rich relatives said they couldn't really afford to lend them money, but they'd let them rent one of the stores they owned really cheaply for five years, instead. The store was off the main street, and they hadn't gotten anybody to rent it in years, or that was what they said, anyway.

[And then, she ate another cheesecake.]

It sounded like a good deal, since the store was in a OK location, even if it wasn't the best, Mom said, so they said yes, thank you, and made the cheese shop and bakery. But then, one day, about an year and a half after they'd opened their shop, the rich relatives said they were raising the rent to about 10 times of what it had been all of a sudden, and then all kinds of things happened, and then, Papa got sick, and they had to close their bakery anyway.

[Nagisa looked at Mami and the lawyer, then, looking angry.]

...And then, only 2 weeks after my parent's bakery closed down, there was an new bakery in the exact same place - And they were reusing all the equipment my parents had put in, too! It was almost like it was the same bakery, except it was a different name, and the breads and sandwiches weren't as good, and they didn't have a cheese section at all.

Don't you think that's very strange, Mami-san, Mitsurugi-san? Why, it's like the rich relatives had tricked my parents into renovating the place so they could rent it out to other people or something!
