[The 5th continuation of the Rin, Len, Miku, Nagisa and the Madoka girls thread, including Path 1, Path 2, and Path 3! (Path 3 has been branched off Path 1)]

I wanna be friends with Erika-chan! Erika-chan has the best birthday parties!
...Well, sure! But you can be friends with both me and Erika-chan, right?
[Little Madoka laughed. Sayaka laughed, then, and wiped her eyes.]
...I can't even remember what "Erika-chan" looked like anymore, Madoka.
[Sayaka said, and then, she took a deep breath and chopped the Familiars away from her, not seeming to care if she was cutting off pieces of her arm in the process.]
[And then, she rolled over to Mami, who was staring at the TV screen, tears rolling down her face. Little Mami was with her family, starting out on that ill fated car trip...]
...Come on, Mami-san, wake up, OK?
[And then, Sayaka turned around and called out - ]
- OK, everybody - We all fight this thing together, for once, and we share the Grief Seed too! Do you all get it!?

[Sayaka cut the familairs away, but more kept coming] "Damn it! more!"
"Mami Nee chan!!" [Nagisa rushed in as much as fast as she could. The familaiars giggled and grabbed her. Visions of Nagisa's mother appeared on the screen. Then of her getting sick, then from Nagisa's view, darkness, then a mirror of her appearing faintly , but with unhuman, multicolored eyes...]
"Nasgisa!!" [Mami broke free upon seeing her adopted little sister in danger and fired at the familairs]
[Kirsten elly watched the memories in interest. Oh? A new sister was about to be born?]

[She said, and hugged her tight.]
[And that was when Rin arrived on the screen with a bang!]
- Ha ha ha - All right, everybody, you can all stop despairing now, the calavery is here!
[She said, a bloodthirsty grin on her lips, and raised her magical weapon, which happened to look like a mike of some kind for the moment. And then, she turned toward Nagisa with a slight sigh.]
...And now, I'd be going for some kind of group attack if I were you folks, but I'm not even sure you know how to do those, so...
[And then, she looked at Nagisa, and waved her hand, looking somewhat worried for a moment.]
- Hey, Kiddo! Are you all right down there?

( the damiliars dived towards rin and grabbed her. This time three sets of memories appeared on the screen, that of princess rilllianne. Rillianne who became rin, and rin kagamine. Kirsten elly watched these eagerly. Wow, these memories. Were certainly juicy! And so much delicious sorrow to feed upon!)

- OK, then, everybody - Listen to my song, and sing with me!
[Mami and Nagisa stared as light swirled around Rin, and her music started to swell.]
...What's happening? It's like the song itself is telling me to add my magical attacks to it?
[Nagisa whispered. Mami grinned, then, and made her ribbons billow in front of her.]
- Well, OK, then - I think we should do just that!
[Kyoko nodded, too, as she staggered up from behind some seats.]
...I never heard of a group attack song, but there's a first time for everything, I suppose...
[And then, Mami, Nagisa and Kyoko raised their voices in song, the magic flowing out of them. A large gun formed in front of Mami, while magical roses curled around Kyoko's spear for some reason. And large amount of shiny bubbles blew out of Nagisa's trumpet, while she clapped her hands...]
[Homura, in the meanwhile, just sighed from her perch in the rafters.]
...As you wish, then, Kagamine-san.
[And then, she opened her mouth, and began to sing too, as the magic flowed out of her.]

Kyouko blinked as she heard Sayaka sing. Sure she knew she nwas into this classical music schitick, but this. Her voice was amazing and tantalizing! And her conductor's movement was as graceful as the water element she represented] "Sayaka... wow..."
[Rin blinked, a twinge of irritation and jealousy at this. Past memories, as the old Rillianne seething in annoyance and jealousy at the attention Lady Oktavia Von Sekendorff's musical genius received. Showing her up like that! And hah, how the people were all disguested at Oktavia once her true fishy appearence was revealed! That's right, she was a mermaid... would she still be a mermaid in this reincarnated life? signs pointed to it

[She growled under her breath, and then took a step back, focusing herself. So many reincarnations seemed to be running around this place nowadays, ha ha ha - And what really was weird was that she seemed to be getting even more flashbacks from Rillanne the Queen then Rillanne the Magical Girl and Folk Singer. What in the world had happened, anyway? Had the Queen Rillanen part come back as a package deal when she reincarnated as Kagamine Rin?]
[But never mind that now - She had something more important to do, after all.]
[Miku - Or what was left of her soul, anyway - was waiting for them to set her free.]
- Carry on, Senderkoff!
[Rin said, and added her song again to the whole, wrapping the whole thing up with gossamer strings of music. She could figure out some way of making the bluehead pay for one upping her later, maybe, she thought with grin, but then, her smile became sad again, as she turned her attention to the stage.]
[Kirsten Elly, in the meanwhile, was turning toward the performance, grimancing.]
[Some people were so unconsiderate! What did they think they were doing, distracting her from her TV screens with such beautiful music?]

[Kirsten Elly huffed as there was a faint crackle on one of the screen, with her own memories, like a badly tuned channel. though the fuzzy screen and white noise, there were glimpses of a girl just like her but with teal hair instead of black and happy looking, indulging in her musical love and talent. It was mostly pop instead of the folk and classical that was emitting from the magical girls, but still...that girl was for music and sharing it with the world... but that girl was gone now. Only sulking in her own little world, watching recordings of other peoples dreams and memories that she collected and kept. Content, but miserable that she could never join the world again...
So the others shouldn't either. her witch symbol mark appeared on any remaining humans in her barrier. putting them in a trance, only thinking of their misery and they should end their lives in this world...

[Rin groaned, feeling very relieved that she'd gotten her brother and mother out of the Witch Barrier beforehand.]
[And then, she blinked. A soft, thin voice was singing along with them, her tones blending seamlessly into their chorus.]
[Kirsten Elly turned around, looking annoyed, then. The green haired girl inside her was singing? Why now? It was much too late for whatever life the green haired girl had wanted, Kirsten Elly had been born already!]
< You made me, Egg Me! Why are you trying to interefere now!? >
(...Sorry, kid. I didn't really know what I was doing, all right?)
[Miku sighed.]
(...And nobody deserves to be a miserable as we are now, I think - Even us.)
< - Kirsten Elly is not miserable! >
[The Witch cried out, while Miku shook her head.]
(......You have no idea what being really happy and content is, Elly - )
[Miku said, and gave her a hug inside the mindspace, and looked into her eyes.]
(- I'll try to do better next time, if there ever is a next time, OK?)
[And then, the combined attack hit both of them.]

[Rin murmured with a smile on her lips - And then, she went and grabbed at Elly's Grief Seed before any of the other Magical Girls even had time to react to what she was doing.]
[Rin stuck the Grief Seed to her Soul Gem with a sigh, and then blinked. The Grief Seed was only drawing out about half of the dark energies her Soul Gem had accumulated, with the rest seeming to sink back into the Gem, twirling.]
...Haah?
[Rin mumbled, but then she sighed - She didn't feel bad or anything for the moment, and it wasn't like she had to time to worry about this right now, so...]
[Nagisa almost squeaked, then, as the blond girl suddenly jumped up to her.]
...Hey, Kiddo!
[Nagisa stared at her, and then almost squeaked as Rin suddenly stuck the Grief Seed to her Soul Gem.]
- Eeeeeeee!?
[And then, she sighed as the dark energies were drained away.]
...Ermm. Thanks, Onee-san - I think?

"Thank you for you help in battling the witch.] Mami bowed gratefully, recognizing her as an experienced magical girl[ "May I ask who you are?"
"Name's Rin Kagamine."
[Sayaka was still taken aback by everything, and though she has met Rin before, she time she had an off feeling about her. A deja vu, and not a good one, and this rin seemedd difefrent then the one she met before. Was it because she was a magical girl now? but even perosnality and some aura felt difefrent...]
"Can't talk now Tomoe, I need to make sure my family is safe. But we'll meet again." [Rin ran off to find Len and their mother

- Hey, hey, hey, Kagamine, wait up a minute there -
[She said, and jumped in the air, running after Rin, and cutting her off. She held spear up, trying to show the other girl she meant business.]
- We need that Grief Seed too, all right!? It wasn't like you went and got that Witch all by yourself, after all!
[Well, crap. Rin looked around all the other Magical Girls, and shook her head - No, no, she didn't have the time nor energy to fight all of them, no matter what the Rillanne part of her was nattering on about.]
...Sure, whatever - I'll let you peeps use it once each, then, as long as you do it quickly. Like within the next five minutes.
[She quickly went to a part of the backstage that seemed to be being used as a store room of some kind, motioning them to follow her.]
[And then, she looked at the Grief Seed, her eyes hooded.]
- You'd better not try to take this Grief Seed from me, though - This one's mine. All mine.
[And then, Rin murmured some words beneath her breath, tears in her eyes.]
...Fuck it, Miku, I...I...
[Sayaka looked like she wanted to say something, but Mami cut her off right off the bat.]
- That sounds like a very reasonable way to do things, Kagamine-san. Thank you.
[And then, she smiled up at Kyoko.]
...You first, Kyoko!
[Kyoko quickly went up to Rin, then, and stuck her Soul Gem to the Grief Seed she was holding up. She sighed in relief as the dark energies drained away. Mami went up to Rin next, and stuck her Gem to the Seed.]
- Let's talk later, Kagamine-san.
...Yeah, but not now, geez.
[Rin muttered, and then turned toward Sayaka as Mami put her Gem away.]
- Hurry up, Seckendorff, I have no time for this!
[Sayaka stared at Rin, and then stuck her Soul Gem to the Grief Seed Rin was holding out with a groan.]
...Seckendor - what?
[And then, she muttered under her breath.]
- And why in the world are you so annoying, anyway?
[Mami, in the meanwhile, was looking around them. Had Homura Akemi just disappeared when the battle was over? Hmmm...]

[Nagisa pouted her lip] "I know that!" [Though, she was scared to find out what the dark secret of magical girls and what the mean kyubey kitty was really hiding. A yawn suddenly over came the child, as she realized how tired she was, even though she just cleansed her gem]
[Mami noticed this and patted her head] "Oh, Nagisa. It's getting ltae. You need your rest It's been a big evening."
"Ok, Mami nee chan..." [Nagisa yawned again and leaned against her adopted big sister]

[She mumbled, as a waved of dizziness hit her, and she nearly crumpled to the ground. Madoka gasped, and ran toward her.]
...Homura-chan! Oh, no...
[Madoka pulled Homura up, and pulled her over to a nearby bench.]
- Don't worry...We dealt with the Witch...
[Homura mumbled, woozily.]
...OK, Homura-chan. That's good. That's really good.
[Madoka whispered - And then, she took out a wipe to pat at Homura's brow. Oh, no - Homura-chan didn't have a fever, right?]
[And that was when there was a sigh behind them.]
...And what kind of experienced Magical Girl just runs off before she even tries to get the Grief Seed, anyway?
[Homura opened her eyes and tried to sit up straight.]
- You!
[Madoka stared at the blond girl, her eyes wide. She was one of the Magical Girls who'd fought the Witch Miku-san had turned into, Madoka was pretty sure, but...]
[Rin sighed, then, and just held out the Grief Seed, sticking it to Homura's Soul Gem.]
...I let all the other Magical Girls in the fight use it once, so.
[She said tiredly, as Homura stared at her, owlishly. Homura closed her eyes as the dark stuff in her Gem was pulled away.]
.......Thank........You???
[Rin huffed, then.]
- Oh, never mind that, I can get all of you to pay me back for this is some fashion, I'm pretty sure...
[Well, if she ever had to need some help with the Puella Magi business, she had a whole lot of people she could talk to now, that was for sure...]
...But for now, goodbye.
[And then, the blond girl was gone, just like that. Madoka looked at Homura with a shy smile.]
...Um. Maybe we should just sit on this bench for a bit, then?
- Yeahhh...
[Homura mumbled, as she rubbed her eyes.]
...Just for a little...And then, we have to...
[And then, Homura leaned against Madoka with her eyes closed, and began to snore, very softly.]

" hello, papa? I think wete ready to go home now could you pick me ans homura up please?" She shos probably call the orhers afterwards to make sure they were all right. She knew they could handle themselves, but she was still worried

[Tomohisa said with a relieved laugh.]
- You did say you were going to the big Hatsune Miku concert with your friends, right? I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the news on the TV!
[Madoka groaned, then, and patted Homura, who was still sleeping, leaning against her.]
...It's on TV already? What are they saying?
[Her father sighed.]
- Nobody seems to know for sure what happened, but there was this big ruckus at the Hatsune Miku concert, they were saying something about colored smoke flares I think, and then Miku-san herself disappeared in the confusion?
[Madoka almost cried, then, and then rubbed at her eyes.]
...I'm not sure what happened either, Homura-chan got me out right away when things started to get weird, but Sayaka-chan and my friends are all OK, I just called them. So could you just come, Papa? I'll meet you outside the east gates with Homura-chan...
[The Kagamine house]
[Rin looked up at her house. And then, she wrapped Miku's - Elly's - Grief Seed in a handkerchief, and then she put in in her pocket. She really needed something better to put Grief Seeds in if she was getting back into the Puella Magi business, she thought with a sigh, and then she wiped her eyes again.]
[She was going to have to talk to Len.]

Sayaka headed back home, still feeling shocked about the events of that evening.
[Mami went home and helped get Nagisa get ready for bed and tucked her in, kissing her goodnight. this was a routine she's been enjoying the past few nights ever since Nagisa came to live for her. She still felt warm about it, a sense of fulfillment in her life from this. a sisterhood....
[As Mami was getting ready for bed herself, the phone rang. She answered.]
"hello?"
[It was her family laywer]
"Hello Mami san. I'm afraid I have some bad news. Your great aunt has just passed away.]
"oh... oh no..." [That was too bad. Mami wasn't the closest with her due to not getting the chance to see her often, but she was still a good woman.]
"the funeral is this weekend. her friends will be arranging the funeral. However, there will be some things I shall need to talk over with you."

[She had to find some way to get Uncle Seijirou and Aunt Rinako off her back, or the money and other things her parents had left her would probably gone in no time flat.]
[...And then, Mami groaned again, feeling herself go cold. What in the world was she going to do with Nagisa-chan? They were only allowed to live together because both Miyoko-san and Nagisa-chan's uncle had said it was all right for the time being!]
[Darn - If only she could find some other relative to be her legal guardian. Anybody would do, as long as they were legally an adult, and willing to let her live her life as she pleased...]

So she arranfed a meeting time with her lawyer.
Sometome later mami was on her way to her office, nagisa accompaniying her. Mami kept her calm composure, but she was rather worried inside. Thiugh she told nagisa about her freat aunts passing, she didnt tell her about yhe issue of guardianship yet. ...)
" so, the funeral is this saturday in my great aunts villaige " mami was telling nagisa " so i shall be going. Of course you can go with me, but i understand if you dont want ti go to abother funeral so soon. I suppose you can stay in the hotel rpom for it, thiugh i dont want to leave you slone. Of course you can alsi stay in mitikigara and stay at madokas house for the weekend..." ( though homestly she wantsc nagisa to stay with her)

Higashi Okurabashi? That's so weird, Mami-Nee-san - That's the village right next to the village my mother originally came from!
[And then, she took out her mobile phone, and found a map.]
...See? It's right on the other side of the hill!
[Mami looked at it, and chuckled a bit in spite of herself. She looked at the map, checking out some other things.]
- You're right! Say, maybe we could even visit some of your relatives on the way back. You're related to the family who runs the buddhist temple over here, right?
[Nagisa looked at the map again, squinting.]
...Oh, yeah, that's the temple Naoto-Nii's father's running, I think. It's still considered to be the main temple of the sect, but the temple near Tokyo where my mother's grave is much bigger now, Naoto-Nii was saying...
[Mami nodded at that with a smile. OK, then - So now what?]
[And then, she thought about her Aunt Rikako with a sigh. She hadn't really had much to do with that particular aunt at all, but at least Aunt Rikako hadn't always been trying to take Mami's money and freedom away from her, unlike her Uncle Seijrou and his wife Rinako...]
[She'd have to talk about that with her lawyer, too, she thought, and then smiled at Nagisa again.]
OK, then - Let's go! You've met Mitsurugi-san already, right? My lawyer, I mean.

"Yes, thanks to him and the social workers..." [Mami falteredd for a second, then smiled." [Yes, he's always been very helpful to me and my family..."
[they eventually reached the Lawyer's office and came in]
"hello Mitsuguri san"
"Ah, hello Mami san. "[he smiled kindly at her, though he also seemed a little nervous] "and young Nagisa san."
[To Mami's surprise, her relatives were already there. Nagisa blinked ] "who are these people?"
"Ah, they are my relatives...." [Mami looked more uncomfortable]
"I thought you said you didnt have any family left oneechan?"
"Well, not,close family , per say." Mami looked down, and patted Nagisa's pale curls , "They're a couple times removed. " My great out, and third uncle and aunt, and my third cousins. " [Mako and Rukia. They were about Mami's age. Mami wanted to be friends with them and enjoyed their company. Even if they were rather unpleasant girls admittedly and up their high horse and often made fun of Mami...]

- Oh, Mami-chan! We were so surprised to hear the news - It's so strange, I always felt that Miyoko-san would live for ever and ever...
[Mami sighed, then.]
...Nobody lives for ever, Aunt Rinako. But yes, I was surprised, too.
[And then, she turned back and looked at Nagisa.]
- This is my friend Momoe Nagisa-san, and she's going to go to the funeral with me. Nagisa-chan, these people are my relatives, like I just said - Please meet Uncle Seijirou, his wife Aunt Rinako, and their children Makoto and Rukia.
...Yes, um, thanks, I'm pleased to meet all of you, too.
[Nagisa said, and gave everybody a timid bow. Makoto and Rukia made faces at each other, then.]
- What the hell? Why is this stupid-looking brat coming to Grand Aunt Miyoko's funeral? She isn't even a relative!
[Makoto said, while Rukia sighed.]
...Yeahhh, isn't it bad enough Mami of all people is going to come and live with us now? Jeez!
[Mami stared at Makoto, her eyes narrowed, then.]
- Actually, nothing whatsoever has been decided about where I am going to live from now on or anything else yet.
[And then, she looked back at her lawyer.]
...Right, Mitsurugi-san?
[Her lawyer mopped at his brow, then.]
- Yes, that is correct, Mami-san. Nothing has been decided yet, but...

- Family members should help each other, right?
[Mami almost facepalmed. Uncle Seijirou was utterly shameless in his quest for access to her money, it seemed...]
...Uncle Seijiro, please - Grand Aunt Miyoko's funeral hasn't even taken place yet!
[And then, she blinked. Hah - Maybe she could distract him or something?]
- Oh, by the way - Uncle Seijiro, Aunt Rinako, have you heard anything about what's in Miyoko-san's will?
[And in the meanwhile, Rukia and Makoto were looking at Nagisa, tilting their heads.]
...Weird. I'm sure I've seen that kid before somewhere...
[Rukia mumbled, while Nagisa almost seemed to shrink into herself. And that was when Makoto clapped her hands!]
- Oh, wait - She must be - what's her name, Auntie Kayoko's brat!
[Makoto said with a nasty grin, and then turned to her sister.]
...Remember Momoe Kayoko? She came over with some kind of sob story a couple of years ago, trying to get money out of us. As if anybody cared about her stupid hubby dying or she and her daughter getting sick, ha ha ha...
[Rukia grinned back at that.]
- Ohhh, right! Showing us photos of her darling sick daughter and everything. The nerve of that woman - I mean, we were barely related to her!

[Mami stared at her cousins for a couple of moments, too, but then, she went up to Nagisa and held her hand.]
...I had no idea your mother knew my uncle and aunt...
[She whispered. Nagisa nodded, too, and whispered back - ]
- Yeah, me neither, but Mama was trying to borrow money from almost everybody we knew once we both got sick, so...
...Yes, yes, I understand.
[Mami said, and patted Nagisa's head.]
- Everything will be all right, OK?
[In the meanwhile, Mami's cousins were still sniggering at Nagisa and Mami.]
...Yeah, I mean, I really didn't get that woman at all. What did she think Daddy and Mommy were, a bank machine? She hadn't even paid back the money she owed them from before, when she tried to open some stupid bakery and cheese shop!
[Makoto said, and then, Rukia sighed, looking at her nails.]
- Right! I mean, she was only Mommy's third cousin, what the hell?
[Mami glared at them, and then straightened up.]
...You know, Rukia-chan, Makoto-chan - You two and me are only third cousins, too, if you're going to go on about this, but that doesn't seem to stop both your parents from insisting that we're family, does it now?
[And then, she grabbed Nagisa's hand, and nodded at her lawyer, who was still trying to talk to her aunt and uncle.]
...We're going out for a break, for about 5 minutes. See you later, Uncle, Aunt, Mitsurugi-san.
[And then, Mami pulled Nagisa out of the room, and shut the door behind them.]
- Are you OK, Nagisa-chan?

"Oh Nagisa...." [Mami petted her pale hair comfortingly. Perhaps in honesty, she didn't like those relatives either. But, she had to keep up a brave front, and be the better person in delaing with them.]
[A few minutes later , the relatives came out of the office. Auntie Rikako offered Mami and Nagisa a saccharine smile, while Maokto and Rukia just sneered at them venomously]
"Well, we shall see you girls at the funeral then."
"Of course, Auntie Rikako." [Mami gave a polite bow, Nagisa reluctantly did so as well.
after they left, Mami and Nagisa went back to the laywer's office. The lawyer looked stressed, mopping his brow.] "I am so sorry, Mami san. They just showed up suddenly, just like that. I think that they were trying to bend some fortunes in their favor, including yours...."
