"We all hail from thousands of worlds out of untold billions," Kotomi's voice was solid. This was the most firm she had ever been in her life, words that she had wanted to speak ever since she was but a child, "we have seen thanks to worlds like Infinity the trade of culture and knowledge that we can all gain from communications like these, and the greatest civilizations throughout history had always been those that had allowed themselves to become the centers of their worlds."
With a wave of her hand, the screen behind her formed two things: A black circle spreading dozens of arrows pointing at multiple figures, and another with a single black figure walking with a cane, with his arrow pointing at a black world, which lead to another, and another...
"Among the most common experiences with the multiverse are those of beings transported, without their consent, onto new universes for whatever purposes there might be -- worlds that are not as kind as Infinity was for all of us. In the better cases, and often the aftermath of these new lives, are the beginnings of travelers that choose to explore new universes, but often alone, or at most with their tightnit groups of friends, with the duty to share everything they had obtained learned from all of these worlds."
Kotomi closed her eyes. With over a hundred eyes set on her, a brief feeling of fear washed over her that she did not show, and tamed as quickly as it appeared, when she knew this was the moment to defend her thesis.
"What I sought from all of this, were the means to not just allow a single person to move throughout universes as a lot of heroes we have known while in here."
The screen behind Kotomi showed the extent of her project, a dimensional rift the size of a city, portal that could span entire populations to move.
"Instead, I sought for the means to allow mass migrations throughout multiple universes."
