[Mami, in the meanwhile, had quickly stuffed Kirsten Elly and the other Mini Witches back into the basket before Hitomi or Kyosuke could catch sight of them. She patted Kirsten Elly gently before closing the basket's lid - And then, her eyes narrowed a bit as she caught sight of the two blond teenagers in front of the big onsen sign.]

[...That was strange. She was almost a 100 percent sure that the blond girl over there was the Magical Girl who'd fought besides them at the big Hatsune Miku battle, but - Why were her magical energy signatures so muted, now? Why, Mami could barely feel them at all, even though she was looking right at the girl...]

"Rin, we might be trespassing."
"We're not trespassing~ We're just asking for diresctions! Sheesh!" [And, rolling her eyes, Rin stepped up to Mam with a wavei, not recognizing her.] "hi there! sorry to intrude, but my brother and I were just hiking around here, and got lost! so, we'd maybe like directions, amybe a wuick breaka?"
[Len froze as he saw the other girls, recognizing them. Oh no, why did they have to run into them! What if they stirred up something strange in Rin again! Well he knew they were good enough people, but he couldn't take the risk...]
"Ah, it is no trouble at all." [Mami ssmiled kindly at them.] "Come, have a rest. I shall make you some refreshments!"
"Ah, well, we can't stay too long..." [Len said with hesitation] "Mom might be getting worried..."

Aw, come on, Len, don't be such a spoilsport...

[The blonde girl said jovially - And that was when Mami realized that Eight and Seven and the girl were looking at each other.]

[The blonde girl tilted her head.]

............Oh. Hi?

[Eight nodded at her, then, and so did Seven.]

(Hello, Kagamine Rin.)

[Hitomi, in the meanwhile, was wondering what the blonde girl was looking at. She rubbed at her eyes, and then rubbed her temples. What was that white blob with red dots that her eyes just couldn't seem to focus on, anyway?]

( and then len, realizing that these two things, though not associated with that creep kyubey, were at risk of waking that odd side of rin again, that would not be good, so he ran up and punted seven away!)
( rin gasped and put her hands on her hips) " len! What the frack fid you do that for!"
" they're bad news, rin! You've got to stay away from them!"
@ how could they be bad news! " ( rin scowlec at her brother) " and just how do you know about them snyway'!"

...I...Um...

[Len shook his head, then.]

- Never mind that, Rin.

[And then, he turned toward Mami.]

...Thanks for everything, Miss, but we'll be going to the other onsen now. Let's go, Rin!

[Len said, and then he started to walk down the path going to the other onsen, pulling at Rin's arm.]

[Rin sighed, but then, started to walk with him.]

...Don't be so rude, Len! Jeez!

[And then, she waved at the other girls]

- Sorry, everybody - Ha ha ha!

[And then, her eyes went hooded for a moment, and she whispered - ]

...See you later, Seven, Eight.

(...As ya wish, Kagamine Rin.)

[Seven said from the place he'd been thrown, while Eight nodded, too.]

[Hitomi, in the meanwhile, was still rubbing at her eyes. So what had that boy just tried to punt, anyway?]

[And that was when Kyosuke sighed, and went over to her.]

...You shouldn't think about it too much, Hitomi-san. All it'll do is give you a headache, OK?

[Mami blinked at that. Wait, so Kyosuke-san could see Eight and Seven, now?]

[Mami sighed a bit, then, and invited Kyosuke and Hitomi into the onsen.]

...The right side is the Men's Baths and the left side is the Woman's.

[Mami said, smiling.]

- I think we should all take a nice refreshing bath, and then have some tea and refreshments in about 20 minutes. What do you think, everybody?

...That sounds like a wonderful idea, Mami-san!

[Sayaka laughed, and so they all went to their locker rooms. Kyosuke blinked as he realized that the lockers in the Men's Baths appeared to be broken.]

- This one's stuck, and this one's door is gone... Well, OK, I can just put my clothes and stuff in the basket over here, I suppose - It's not like any robbers are going to come here now, ha ha ha -

...Yeah, I don't think you have to worry about that either, actually.

[A voice said from someplace beneath him. Kyosuke looked down and slowly blinked as he saw a cream colored critter with red-amber eyes looking up at him.]

- I am called Eight, and this is my colleague, who is called Seven.

[The critter said, and slowly nodded toward another critter with mussy hair. The other critter nodded back with a grin.]

...Good to meecha, Kamijo Kyosuke! That Miki Sayaka girl talks about you a whole lot, did you know that?

[Kyoukske blinked at the critters and shrugged nonchalantly. So he was still hallucinating, it seemed, these critters popped up again. Of course, it couldn't be real. Just likenseeing Sayaka with magical swirls of water and music notes and battling hideous monsters....] "Does she now. Well, we have been close friends ever since we were little."
"Yeah, but it ain't jut friend talk, ya know!" [Seven sniggered] "she's always ghushing about ya! Her prince charming, she wants ya bad! Course, sparks are also flyin' between her and fiery Kyouko!"
[Eight rolled his eyes and nudged Seven] "Quiet now."

...Kyoko? Oh, you mean Sakura-san? She's sort of scary, but I thought she seemed nice...

[Kyosuke mumbled, not quite getting what the critters were just saying -]

- And what do you mean, she wants me bad?

[- And then he put his hand to his head as a series of images rushed through it. Waking up to find Sayaka holding his hand, and a warmth he'd never felt before running through his body, strength and sensation returning to his hands, and his sight suddenly becoming clearer. Sayaka looked at him with a puzzled look at the Hatsune Miku concert asking him why he'd changed his clothes, and talking about coming to the concert in a limo. How strange - Why did she think he had the money to take her anyplace in a limo, anyway? But from that time, things had gotten stranger and stranger...]

[Kyosuke shook his head, then.]

...Oh, come on, Magical Girls don't exist for real - And even if they did, why would Sayaka of all people become one? That's ridiculous!

[And Sayaka in the meanwhile let out a sneeze as she was installing herself in the baths along side the other girls. Her legs tingled again upon the contact with the water, but she willed her mermaid feautures to stay down. Eventually Hitmoi approached Sayaka, looking a bit serious.]
"Sayaka chan, may we go to that side of the pool over there, just the two of us? There is something I need to discuss with you."
"Huh? Ssure, Hitomi" [As she followed Hiitomi to the opposite side of the pool, Sayaka had a bit of a sinking feeling.]
"Sayaka san, we've been good friends with Kyousuke kun for years now, haven't we."
"yeah. Ever since kindergarten"
And now, your relationship with him,"
"Er, we're just friends!" [so far...?]
"Just friends? I see. You see, I have somehting to confess. I am in love with him, and am planning to ask him to be my boyfriend tonight."
[Time seemed to freeze and everything turned cold as Sayaka heard those words] "..oh..."
"And I wanted to let you know that, Sayaka Chan."
"yeah... sure. That's great. I'm happy for you, Hitmomi!" [Sayaka forced a smile upon her face but was feeling very stricken and dizzy]
"Are you all right?"
"yeha, I just feel a bit... I have to go..." [Sayaka started to stumble out of the bath, but fell over in pain as she lost control and her witch feauures appeared in full force right before Hitmoi's eyes!]

...Sayaka...chan? Why are you a mermaid?

[Hitomi said, blankly, and then, she suddenly fainted, almost sinking into the bath. Sayaka stared at her in horror for a moment, but then came to her senses and quickly pulled Hitomi out of the bath.]

[She then groaned as she saw herself in the mirror. The magical disguise had came off!]

[Mermaid Sayaka tried to stand up, then, and then flopped to the floor again. Wait a minute, had her legs been a mermaid tail all along, under the magical disguise? How in the world had she been able to walk, anyway?]

[Sayaka sighed, then, and shook her head. Maybe the disguise magic was also supposed to cause a partial transformation? Who knew how those things were supposed to work, anyway.]

[Sayaka shook her head again, then, and flopped over to the locker filled with her belongings, pushing herself over the floor with her hands. She then quickly took out the small round magical mirror that Seven and Eight had given her, flipped it's lid open, and slapped the disguise back on. Syaka sighed in relief as her face in the mirror quicky changed into what she thought of as her "human face". She checked the rest of her body too, to make sure the magic was working properly in places that weren't her face - Yes, her human legs were back too, yaaay! Sayaka smiled in relief, and then walked back to Hitomi, who'd she'd left lying down on the bath's floor.]

[Hitomi groaned as Sayaka went up to her.]

...Sayaka...san?

- Yeah, it's me!

[Sayaka said, and leaned down toward her, holding out a sports towel.]

...Are you OK now? You scared me, you know, just collapsing like that...

[Hitomi stared at her, muzzlily, and took the towel.]

- But...you...?...

[And then, she shook her head.]

...How strange! I must have been dreaming, of course. Sorry, Sayaka-san...

[And then, Sayaka took a deep breath.]

- And, um, Hitomi? About Kyosuke...

[Hitomi looked at her, then.]

...Yes, Sayaka-san?

[Sayaka groaned, then, getting more and more red in the face.]

- I'm sorry, but I've been in - in - in - I mean, I haven't been thinking of him just as a friend for a while now. So there!

[Hitomi blinked in surprise at that] "oh? Hm, yes. I thought so. It is fairly obvious."
[Sayaka blushed flustered at that] "oh. Is it.... We, we actually...""
"But, have you actually confessed your feelings towards him yet?"
["Er, well..." [sayak faltered, absent mindedly scratching at her legs, some scales reappearing form the stress] "...not officially yet...]
[Hitomi sighed and shook her head] "I don't want to put pressure on you, sayaka chan. And I don't want something like this to ruin our friendship. But it seems we are both in a predicament. We both love Kyousuke kun"

...But you areeee putting pressume on meee!

[Sayaka groaned.]

- Look, Hitomi, I - I -

[And then, she sighed. She didn't really think that telling Hitomi about the Magical Girl business was a good idea, to be frank.]

......Just...Just give me some time. OK?

[And in the Men's Baths...]

[Seven and Eight both chuckled, as Kyosuke put a hand to his head.]

...Magical Girls do exist, you see - And Miki Sayaka really, really, really wanted to heal your hand and your brain and all the other damage that the accident had caused you.

[And then, Seven chuckled, remembering Sayaka's long list of wishes.]

- Oh, it wasn't the only thing she Wished for by a long shot, but you were the most important part of it, I think.

[Kyosuke stared at them, then.]

...What? But - But - Wait, Sayaka healing my hand wasn't just a dream, you mean?

[And then, he shook his head.]

- And - Wishes? Somebody...Somebody was talking about Wishes, I think...

[Seven and Eight both nodded at that, and then, Eight hopped up to Kyosuke.]

- Oh, yes - Look, it works like this, OK? First, an Incubator goes and talks to a human with potential, who is usually a teenage girl but not always, and then they make a Contract if she agrees to become a Magical Girl and fight Witches - Oh, and I don't mean "human female magic users" when I say Witches, by the way, the Witches I'm talking about are basically eldrich monsters.

[And then, Seven waved a paw, too.]

...Tha girls gets a free Wish as well as nifty magical powers when they become Magical Girls - Transformations, magical attacks, the works. They usually love that part, though fighting Witches is pretty dangerous and all...

[Kyosuke sighed, then, and closed his eyes, rubbing them.]

...Potential. Somebody once said that...I had potential.

[Seven and Eight both looked at him, then, their amber and amber-red eyes glittering.]

- Ya do, actually!

[Seven said, and hopped closer to him, grinning.]

...It's been a while since I made a Contract with a male human being, but I'll be willin' to try it if yer are - There're a couple of new experiments I'd just love to try out, after all, ha ha ha...

[Eight coughed, then, and waved his paws at Seven.]

- But on the other hand - I'm pretty sure Miki Sayaka would really, really be upset if both us if you just went and decided to become a Magical Boy without talking it over with her first, I'm afraid. Being a Puella or Puer Magi is risky in all kinds of way, you see...

(Hitomi sighed and shook her head) "I am sorry , Sayaka chan. I Did not want it to come this way, and put pressure on you like this. You are my good friend.. But this needs to be solved. " [Hitomi stepped out of the baths, draping a towel aorund her lovely, graceful body) "Tomorrow we shall invite you girls to brunch at our house. I will tell Kyousuke how I feel afterwards. You have until then to tell him how you feel. Is this fair?"
[Sayaka was a bit pale and emitted a quick high pitched croak, before giving her proper response] "Y-yeah. Good, plan."
"Very well. Oh dear, you seem to have quite a rash there. You should have it medicated."
"I-i's nothing , yeha I'll get it,.." [Sayaka was still scratching at her legs absent mindedly, tyring to hide any emerging scales. After Hitomi left, Sayaka groaned and lay back. She could hear her witch self muttering furiously in her mind, which included negative words against Hitomi)

[In the Woman's Baths]

[Sayaka blinked, then. Wait a damn minute, what did Hitomi mean by her house, anyway? Did Hitomi's family actually own a house nearby this place or something?]

[Sayaka's Witch Self, in the meanwhile, was showing Sayaka some comedic images of a manga-esque Hitomi being blown up to the roof of the onsen by a erupting geyser of hot spring water. Sayaka groaned, laughed, and then patted her Witch Self mentally.]

[And that was when Hitomi wrapped a towel around herself, and then went to the part of the baths that the other girls were, waving her hand about!]

...Everybody here, please pay attention!

[Hitomi blushed when everybody actually stopped whatever they were doing and started to look at her, but then, she carried gamely on.]

- Um, I'm really grateful for Tomoe-Sempai inviting me and Kamijo-kun here for a dip in the very nice Onsen here -

[And then, she gave Mami a little bow. Mami bowed back with a light smile.]

...So I'm inviting all of you to a cottage my family is renting from some of my relatives for brunch tomorrow! Well, I can change the schedule if it doesn't match your plans, but...

"Ah, why yes, of course! That sounds lovely, thank you for inviting us!" [Mami smiled and bowed again]
"Wonderful! I shall let my parents know then." [Hitomi headed off to get changed.
Sayaka sighed and sank into the waters again. Kyouko patted her increasingly scaly shoulders ]
"Don't listen to that stuck up twat, Sayaka!"
"..Kyousuke might be better off with her..." [Sayaka sighed sadly] "He wouldn't want a girl who keeps turning into a fish..."
[Kyouko roleld her eyes] "Well you know what? He doesn't deserve a girl like you, even if you do keep turnin into a fish!" [Kyouko scopped Sayaka up in her arms with a grin] "Now come on. There's a villaige nearby. Let's go have some fun!"

[In the Men's Baths]

[Kyosuke was rubbing at his head.]

...Uh, OK. And...Thanks for the info, I suppose?

[Seven and Eight looked at each other, and snickered.]

- Well, we'll be leaving you be for now, so you could think about what we just told you, ho ho ho -

[Eight said, waving a paw, and then, Seven nodded, too.]

...We know it's a lotta information, but it's important stuff, all right? So ta-da, and see ya later!

[And then, they both disappeared out of the Bath's door. Kyosuke sighed again, and then sank into the warm waters again, closing his eyes.]

[...So when had his life turned turned into a plot out of some of Sayaka's mangas, anyway?]

[Kyouske eventually got out of the bath, put on his clothes, and then went out to the lounge area, to see if he could find his other friends. Hitomi came into the lounge at almost the same time as he did, blushing a bit as she caught sight of him for some reason.]

...Oh, Kyosuke-kun - I, uh, I invited all the girls here to the cottage my family is renting for brunch tommorow! You'll come too, right?

[Kyosuke tilted his head at that. Hitomi sure was acting strange, but then, so was almost everybody else he knew, now that he thought about it. Even Sayaka, who he'd known from since kindergarden, was - ]

[- Aand that was when he remembered just what the strange white and cream colored critters he'd just been talking to had told him, and felt himself start to blush, too. Sayaka "had it bad" for him, what the heck? And what in the world had they been trying to say about Sayaka and that Kyoko person, anyway?]

...Uh, um, sure, sure! I'll be happy to come to the brunch, Hitomi-san! I mean, our cottages are right next door, after all, ha ha ha...

[He told Hitomi with a slightly twitchy smile - ]

[Aand that was the very moment that Kyoko came out of the changing room, carrying Sayaka in her arms! They both were dressed in casual vacation clothes, with streachy pants and a T-shirt.]

- Oh, come onnn, Kyoko, I can walk fine now, OK!?

[Sayaka said, giggling and blushing even more - And that was when she caught sight of both Kyosuke and Hitomi, who were both staring at Sayaka and Kyoko like they were poleaxed.]

[- Ooops?]

" ah,.. Kyousuke kun... Hitoimi chan..." (Sayaka's more elevated mood descended back down afgain upon seeing hitomi and kuouske .) " hey..."
( kyouko glowerrd. At thr two )
" sayaka. Are you all right?" ( kyousuke tilted his head)
" yes. I am fine." ( sayaka trued a smile) " we're going out to the villaige for a bit, look atound."
" ah, how nice!" ( hitomi clapped her hands) " kyousuke, maybe you should join them?"

[Kyosuke stared at Sayaka and Kyoko, then, his brow furrowed. What was this strange feeling...???...]

...Yeah, of course I'll go. You'll be coming along, too, right, Hitomi-san?

[He said with a smile to Hitomi - And then, he turned back to where Kyoko and Sayaka was. Kyoko had now put Sayaka down, and they were both checking through their bags, making sure they had everything they needed.]

- But I was the one who was always Sayaka's best friend! Why'd she have to suddenly get so chummy with that red haired delinquent, anyway?

[He mumbled under his breath - And then, he paused.]

...But wait, this is weird. Kaname Madoka was Sayaka's other best friend for ages and ages, and she still is as far as I know, but I never felt like this about her before, right?

[Seven and Eight were watching through the bushes. Seven sniggered at Kyousuke's reaction]
"Welp. It seems the reality glitches are screwing up pretty violin boy. Wanna bet on how long before he really cracks?"
"That's enough , brother." [Eight tutted] "We should not have intervened with him. I think we are getting too much off track."
"Look, not my fault pretty violin boy and the fish and fire head are all screwed up in love!"
"Shut up. Let's just stay out of the way unless it's very neccesary"

[Hitmoi tutted at Sayaka and took her arm] "now really Sayaka, if you're going out, you should not be dressed like that, all in loafer wear! here, I'll help you tidy up."
[Sayaka looked away.] "I-it's fine. We're not going anywhere fancy. We're just going down for a bit to check it out..."
[Kyouko wrenched Sayaka away, fairly irritated] "You and pretty boy don't need to butt in!"
"Kyouko, please don't..." [Sayaka frowned]

[Sayaka marched away to the locker room, then, and came back in slightly more fashionable clothing and a summer hat.]

...There it goes! Now don't look at me like that, Hitomi, I'm not going to go walking around a mountain in a skirt like you are, jeez...

[Hitomi nodded, then.]

- It's better, anyway. And I'm not wearing a skirt, Sayaka-san - These are pants, technically!

[And then, she swished around and raised her foot a bit, showing that indeed, what she was wearing was one of those pants that looked like a skirt.]

[Kyoko sighed, then.]

...Fine, fine, whatever.

[And then, she smiled, and went up to Sayaka again.]

- Hey, you do look good like that, too, yanno?

[Sayaka grinned happily at that.]

...You think so? Thanks, Kyoko!

[Kyosuke, in the meanwhile, was looking more and more miffed.]

- Oh, just get away from her, you stupid delinquent girl!

[He mumbled - And then, he took a deep breath, and walked up to Sayaka!]

...Hey, Sayaka! What...What...

[And then, he took a deep breath. Come on, Kamijo Kyosuke, you've been on stage before, you can do this, really.]

- What do you think of walking to the village over there with me?

[Sayaka stared at Kyosuke, then, and slowly grew red up to the tips of her ears.]

[Did that...really mean what she thought it did?]

"Y-yes, sure. I mean, that would be very nice, Kyousuke!" [Sayaka nodded. As they started to head off, Kyouko clenched her fists. What was that about! She was the one who invited Sayaka to the villaige first! It was supposed to be a nice time , just her and Sayaka, to try and forget about their problems. And here that fancy prince charming just came along and steal her away!... but, that was what Sayaka wanted, right?.. But, what if her heart got broken...? Did Kyouko have the right to intervene with her feelings?
As red fiery sparks of frustration were let out, Kyouko leapt onto the roof , aided by her magical girl magic, and jumped away from the house. Hitomi blinked in surprise as she watched this. Just how did this girl have this ability?
Kyouko eventually found herself in a pasture, and came across a black and white horse. She neared it and stroked its mane, wondering if she should let out ehr angry tears or not]

[Aand that was when an old man with a bucket full of carrots came upon the scene!]

...Whaaa? Heeeyyy, Kyoko-chan, is that you?

[Kyoko froze for a moment, and then turned around.]

- Zenji-Jiichan? ...Wait, I had no idea your farm was around here!

[The old man grinned at that.]

...Well, my old farm was actually on the other side of that mountain, but I hadda sell it, you see - The old place is now being remade into a hotel and resort now, ha ha ha!

[And then, he nodded at the black and white horse.]

- And hey, old Checkers actually remembers you, it seems - Fancy that!

[The horse whinny'd at the sound of it's name, and then nuzzled Kyoko's hair. Kyoko stared at it for a moment, and then pulled her head away.]

...Oh, come on, stop chewin' on my hair, you silly thing...

[Kyoko looked at the horse, then, and patted it's nose again. So wait, this was actually the very same horse she'd loved to play with when she was younger? How strange!]

( the horse knickered again and nuzzled kyouko again. The old man handed her the carrots to give to the horse.)
" so, how is your famiy doing, kyouko chan?" ( he asked) " " is the church still diing well? And little momo chan, why, she's probably not a baby anymore!"
( kyouko looked away, hiding her pain. Right. He probably didn't know about her family's tragedy....) " yeah. She's, a lovely little lady..."
( hm? What's wrong kyouko chan? Why the tears? Don't tell me ya got a heart break , with young love romance!"
