[The 6th continuation of the Rin, Len, Miku, Nagisa and the Madoka girls thread, including Path 1, Path 2, and Path 3! (Path 3 has been branched off Path 1)]
[... Yes.. yes it was..!"] "Walpurgisnacht..." [Mami breathed in shock as she put it all together. The witch queen that was due to show up next week. their most powerful battle to come...] "So... Was this her first appearence, over 200 years ago?" (Nagisa beamed at the illustration] "The witch queen... She's so pretty!" "yes... she is beautiful..." [ the queen of the witches... their queen...]
[Nagisa looked at the picture in the book for a long moment, and then carefully put it down on the table, smiling at Mami.]
...OK, then, so what's in this book?
[She said, picking up the other one. Mami stared at her, blinking, and then shook her head.]
- I have no idea. The picure on the front really does look familiar, though, for some reason...
[Nagisa gave her a slightly sad smile, then.]
...Why, of course, Mami-Nee - They look just like the Kagamine Rin-san and her brother!
[Mami stared for a moment, wondering who those people were - And then, she took a better look at the picuture. The richly dressed girl sitting on the throne did look a lot like the Magical Girl who'd fought with them at the concert battle, now that she thought about it. And as for the boy standing behind her in some kind of Royal Servant's garb...]
- Oh, so that's what her name is? I had no idea, though I do remember a boy who looked a lot like her being there, of course.
[Mami and Nagisa both browzed through the book, then, though the story was a bit different from what they both remembered.]
...It's still fits the general plot of the Story of Evil, but the nobles around Princess Rillanne seem to be much more evil and manuplative then I remember from any of the other stories. I do feel sorry for her, at least a little...
[Mami said, looking at a picture of Rillanne crying on the shoulder of the blond boy who looked just like her. At then, she blinked.]
- No, wait, so the Royal Servant is actually being called her brother, here? Her twin brother, even? But then, why wasn't he the King, or at least some kind of Prince?
...I don't know, Mami-Nee. Maybe some people thought having a girl on the throne would be more useful, somehow?
[Mami nodded at that, and looked through the book some more.]
[The Picture Book]
[The blonde haired girl was sitting at a desk, cletching a glass so hard it was breaking in her hand - "Everybody betrays me! Even my own brother betrays me!" The caption said, as the blood flowed down her hand...]
[And then, a white furred and red eyed creature came upon the scene, smiling up at her cutely.]
[Mami sighed] "I do wonder exacltly how long Kyubey has been aroumfd in this world if he was in thaat era." [Nagisa bounced up curiously] " Will you read the picture book to me, mami nee chan?" "Perhaps tonight before bed, imouto chan" [Mami patted Nagisa's head] "Now, let's see what other interestingg things we can find here."
[She did want Mami to do everything she'd come to do and have some fun before telling her the horrible truth about Magical Girls turning into Witches, after all. And she really did have to tell Mami first, before that nasty Kyubey did, Nagisa felt...]
[Mami smiled at her.]
...Well, for now...Why don't we go to the Festival that's supposed to be taking place in the village down the hill?
- That sounds like a great idea, Mami-Nee!
[And so they closed up the room, and took another bath. Mami and Nagisa both did each other's hair, and got dressed in the appropiate yukata's and footgear.]
[They were doing a play based on some of the local legends at the festival. Nagisa clapped her hands and laughed.]
...Five color-coded Mikos teaming up to save the village from a horrible monster? Why, it's almost like a Magical Girl anime or something, Mami-Nee...
......It really does, doesn't it?
[Mami said, and then she snickered as Kyubey looked up at her, grinning as usual.]
.......Well, I wonder, Kyubey - Could you have had something to do with those old legends, perhaps?
- Maybe, maybe!
[The Incubator said, laughing - And then, he giggled as Mami gave him some dangos on a stick,]
...I love those - Thanks, Mami!
[And then, they sat down to watch the play. Mami chuckled as she saw the Silver Miko being given a magical talisman by a black cat, and then go on to gather the Miko Team.]
...So it wasn't a white cat? How odd!
[First, there was a series of battles, fighting against a red-haired sorceress and her minions (who were feeding people's energies to the monster for some kind of magical dark power boost) and then, it was time for the final battle against the monster herself. Nagisa and Mami ooh'd and ahh'd as the color-coded Miko's died, one by one, just to give their camerades a chance to kill the monster for good.]
[And then, the Moonlight Shadow, the Silver Miko's mysterious love interest, died in her arms a very sad scene, accompanied by old style traditional Japanese dirge music.]
[Nagisa clapped, too, her eyes moist.]
......So that's what sad anime music would have sounded like if they'd had anime back in the Edo period, huh?
[After that came the final battle, in which the Silver Miko managed to defeat the monster with her last breath, and collapsed on the floor of the stage as the monster gave one last screetch of rage and disappered in a flash of smoke.]
[There was one last scene, then, a bittersweet scene were the spirit of the Silver Miko was reunited with the spirits of her friends and beloved, and danced with each other one last time.]
...Well, it probably was a good thing that the Silver Miko died in the final battle, I suppose - It would have been much too dangerous otherwise.
[Nagisa said, sighing a bit, and wiped her eyes. Mami blinked at that.]
- Huh? Why would it have been dangerous? The Witch - I mean, the monster had been defeated already, right, Nagisa-chan?
[Nagisa looked at her, and sighed again, wondering what to say - But then, the final narration of the play started up.]
The legends say that Five Miko became goddesses after their death, and are watching over the people, even now. The main shrine dedicated to them is a 15 minute walk from here...
...Ohhhh!
[Nagisa laughed, and clapped her hands, relieved for a chance to change the subject.]
- Let's go pay our respects to our Sempais from long ago, Mami-Nee! I mean, it does sound like the right thing to do, right?
Re: The continuation of Path 2 2/2
(Nagisa beamed at the illustration] "The witch queen... She's so pretty!"
"yes... she is beautiful..." [ the queen of the witches... their queen...]
