[Let's see - One day, she'd been eating lunch with Professor Emmerich's family, and then the Attack of the School Bullies from Hell had happened, but that had been dealt with soon enough - Julie Dangizer Emmerich, Hal's stepmother, and started out by throwing a bottle of brandy at those crazy bullies who dared make her stepson Hal and daughter Emma cry, and soon enough, the bullies had ended up running away screaming that they were going to tell their parents. Marie herself hadn't had done much more then hold one of them in a choke hold when they tried to set fire to the house, so she'd considered it a day well spent, but then - ]
[Marie sighed. Not one, not even two, but three groups of heavily armed people had attacked the Emmerich residence not at all long after that - And now she was someplace in Africa, in some kind of highly fortified military base that probably wasn't even supposed to officially exist in the first place. And Professor Emmerich...]
[And that was when Hal Emmerich came into the room shyly.]
...Hi, Marie, Miss Ichinose - Are you still awake?
[The teenager whispered.]
Are you all right? I wanted to talk to Papa, but he's still too busy being Darth Emmerich, it seems, and...
[Darth Emmerich? Marie almost groaned, remembering what had happened when they first arrived here.]
