[Gwendolen almost looked afraid as the tall girl loomed over her. then she regained her innocent smile]"Hm? what was what all about?" "You pushed that vase over on purpose! I saw it!" "I don't know what your talking about." Gwendolen chimed, starting to walk away "Accidents happen with clumsiness. Maybe you should clean up the mess now."
[Camille bit her lip. She had been willing to give Gwendolen another chance, especially for Garrin's sake. She was sure, and least she wished she was, that she was a good girl after all. But, it seemed hard. There were times she just seemed so wicked! Even before her life got scrambled]
Gwendoen glared up at the tall girl, feeling intimidated again, but shoved her hand off of her shoulder "I Do not think so! I shan't and you can not make me!" With that she strode off again. Camile sighed "Just leave her bbe. I'll have a talk with her later..." Serenea blinked "Huh? hey Camille, that girl looks just like your boyfriend Garrin!" "Yes, she does. Tat is because, she is his twin sister..."
[Lita, in the meanwhile, was looking at all the mess and sighing.]
...We should have made her clean up the mess at least! You can't let people get away with things like that...
[Camille groaned a bit at that.]
- Well, you see...She...can't use magic at the moment. So I don't think she really could have cleaned up the mess, even if we could have somehow forced her to try to do that...
[The girl with the long black hair blinked at that.]
...She can't use magic? But why? It's not like she doesn't have any magical potential - I mean, it's sort of fuzzy and clouded for the moment, but I could still feel it...
[And that was when the girl with the blue hair turned toward all of them, and tilted her head.]
- Wait, her magical potential felt fuzzy and clouded? So it wasn't just me
[And then she thought about this some more.]
...So that's how magic feels when it's blocked. Hmmm...
[All the girls looked at the blue haired girl, then.]
...B-Blocked?
[The other blonde woman spluttered, eventually.]
- You mean - You mean she's on probation?
[The other girls looked at each other, and then at Michelle.]
[Camille shrugged, wondering how to explain what Garrin had told her about Gwendolen] "Apparently, she got mixed up within a bad crowd not long ago. some shady hedge wizards from her neighborhood attempted a coupe and got her involved. I am not sure she really knew what she was getting herself into, I, doubt it. But she was punished anyway..."
[Gwendolen in the meanwhile was sulking back through the hallway. That stupid Camille! and those sstupid other girls! Once she got her magic back, she would curse them! Perhaps the library may be a nice place to go next. the shadows started tittering again.
(Gwennie, Gwennie, long time no see! See, I knew she'd miss us...)
[A shadow tittered, and then it looked at her, a reflection in the nearby window.]
(...And your magic is still blocked, we see!)
[Another one sighed.]
(Oh, come on, Gwendolen Chant - Just call us again, and we'll get rid of that stupid block in no time! We promise!)
[Gwendolen glared at them, and stopped walking.]
Oh, shut up - You're all talk, and you lie all the time, anyway.
[And then she sighed, too.]
- And anyway - I feel so much better now, now that you're not yammering at me all the time anymore!
[The shadows looked at each other, then.]
(...But didn't you miss us, Gwennie? And the dark magic, too?)
[She glared at them.]
Of course I miss my magic, but missing you stupid idiots are another matter entirely!
[And then she paused a bit, remembering when she'd been so sick. Mother had said that that was because she'd been dangerously addicted to the dark magic, but...]
[And then she turned away, annoyed. How could one get addicted to one's own magic, anyway - That made no sense at all!]
[She growled and looked over at the other large building across the lake, where the boy's school was. How she wished she could go see Garrin. He would support her. he would cheer her up.] 'Oh really, now that you found out you really do have a twin brother, now you're all suddenly so dependent on him!' The voice chided
[Gwendolen grimanced again, and kicked in the image's general direction.]
- Who cares! He's my twin brother, and he's actually loyal to me and loves me, unlike that damn C - Eric.
[Cat had turned away from her as still as he decided that sucking up to the Chestromanci was better then being loyal his own sister - And this had happened even before he knew about her magic-stealing.]
[Humph! Well, who the hell needed a brother like that, anyway...]
[Gwendolen blinked, and wiped at her eyes, angrily. Oh, come on! Who needed Cat, anyway - Especially when she had a much better replacement...]
[And in the meanwhile, elsewhere in the school...]
[Rini was still talking with Olivia.]
...Wooow! So your Papa's now in charge of the whole Lab!?
[Rini said, grinning at her friend.]
- Oh, yes!
[Olivia laughed - But then she sighed, again, and looked around them. She then leaned close to Rini, and whispered -]
...He's still so odd. though, sometimes - Sometimes he looks at me, his glasses glinting, and it's soo spooky!
- And I - I sometimes wonder if he's been replaced by some kind of fake something, to be honest...
"And who's fault what that, was it? You were the one who messed up his life, drove him away." "And you got your claws on another replacement, stole him away from his own true sister. Oh but that's right, he left you when he foudn out the truth too!" "And here we are, option number three..." "Shut up!!" gwnedlen, holding herhead shriekd "Garrin is my own true twin brother! he strived to find me!!"
[Olivia started to look a bit sad]"I do not trust those interns of his either.. And , there are times where I black out, well it might be due to my illness. But sometimes, I think I hear a voice whispering..somethign dark..."
[The woman known as Beryl was still walking in the gardens, moodily.]
[It had been very nice to talk to Lord Darien, but now, it was time for something much less pleasant.]
...Oh, there you are.
[She muttered under her breath, as she caught sight of a woman with long curly purple hair. And she looked so happy and content, too - Her marriage with that commoner boyfriend had turned out well, apparently.]
- Hello, Irene. Long time no see, eh?
[Irene Moonsfield nearly dropped her handbag when she heard Beryl's voice.]
...Be...Berrys?
[She cried out, spinning around. Beryl almost groaned.]
- Oh, stop that, I hated that nickname, and you know it!
[Beryl then turned around, and put up a hand. A magical forcefield flickered up around them - It wasn't very high powered, but it was subtle. Beryl snickered, then - How odd, to think that she'd ended up become a real Mage, while Irene, who'd been the darling of the family...]
[Oh, well.]
[Beryl then took a deep breath, and took a good look at Irene. She really did look good, she had to admit - Looking young did run in the family, but Irene actually looked younger then Beryl herself did, even though Beryl was several years younger then she was.]
...Look, I'm not particularly found of the notion of talking to you, either, so I'll be brief.
[Beryl said, sighing.]
- Number One - You Know Who has lost it. Like, entirely. And don't tell me that the White Moon Clan members aren't supposed to go senile, because she's managed to lose it anyway.
Number Two - There is a wild Witch Barrier the size of a small hill around the old estate. Enter at your peril.
And Number Three -
[Beryl sighed, then.]
I'll going to be working as a school teacher here, in this school, from this semister. If you don't like it, too bad.
[And then she looked at Irene, who was looking very poleaxed indeed, and snickered in spite of herself.]
- So that's about it, I think.
[And then, she smiled widely. Oh, it was good to have to upper hand, for a change, she did have to admit!]
...So, then - Any questions, sister of mine? Though I must admit you still do look good enough to eat, as You Know Who used to say...
Gwendolen was still fussing, tyring to get the others out of her head. At a distance away her mother was watching in worry. Arguing with voices in her head outloud, was not a good sign...
gwendolen finally bolted and starting running over to the boy's school, despite it being all way across the lake. At the meantime, it was free time for the boys for now, so with permission, Garrin had decided to make his way over and check in on Gwendolen. He had worried about her, it was only recently she got better after falling ill again.
[Garrin blinked as he saw Gwendolen come stumbling his way, seemingly muttering to herself.]
...Gwennie!
[He cried out, and started to run toward her.]
- What's wrong!?
[And in the meanwhile...]
[Irene was wandering around the gardens, muttering to herself, too.]
- Oh, no! Could it be true?
...But how could Great Grandmother of all people - lose it? I thought...I thought she'd be sticking around for ever and ever, long after I was dead and gone...
[And then she paused. Wait, had somebody poked her in the back, just now?]
[...And somebody had been trying to say something to her for a couple of minutes now, now that I'd thought about it. More then one person had, actually...]
...Mama! Come on, look at us - What's wrong!?
[Irene Moonsfield groaned, then. Oh, great - Her daughter and son had both been trying to talk to her for five minutes already, from the looks of it!]
- I'm sorry, Serena, Samuel...
[She sighed. She had no idea how to explain what had happened to her children - Or to her poor husband, for that matter. Poor Kenneth, he'd been so relieved that she'd been willing to leave her decidedly mysterious - not to mention scary - family far behind her, but now...]
she sniffled and looked up at him with tear stained eyes "Garrin!" [With a wail she threw his arms around him] "you're here!" "Yes Gewnnie. I'm here..." He patted her hair comforintly "What happened? Did someone hurt you?" "the voices... They won't leave me alone!"She sobbed "It's so annoying!" "What voices?..the one from your dreams?" "Yes... They're in my mind, bothering me..." "Have youtold anyone about this? Our Parents?"
[A cold gust of...something was looking at them. It sounded odd even to himself, but that was really the best way to describe what he was just feeling, he felt.]
...Where is she? Where?
[A voice murmured - And that was when the Shadow Images started to talk inside Gwendolen's mind again.]
(...Oh, yuck - Look at that, it's one of them!)
(......Gawddarnit. Make it go away, will ya?)
( - Ew ew ew - Hey, Gwennie! You'd better not be what that thing is looking for, or you're in for a wooorld of trouble, I tell ya....)
[Gwendolen started shivering again and bloacked her ears] "No!! shut up shut up!!!" "H-hey, It's all right gwennie. Let's just go inside. Or maybe, sowhere to ourselves." Garrin tried to comfort her, hoping no one was watching currently and noticing her behavior. " I think the kitchen is empty back on my campus. we can go there, and I could makeyou something warm and sweet. How does that sound?" "A-all right..."
[And so Gwendolen and Garrin both went to his school's kitchens.]
Just sit there for a bit, Gwennie - I'll make you some brioches in a jiffy!
[Garrin laughed. Gwendolen felt a pang as she remembered Allen bringing her brioches for breakfast. She missed him so much! She even missed Josephine, her horse back in the castle, even though that particular horse was stupid as anything.]
[And as for Cat...]
[- No, no, she wasn't going to think about that now, she told herself furiously, and wiped her eyes again, hoping Garrin wouldn't notice her tearing up again.]
[She didn't miss that - that damn traitor, of course not!]
[And in the meanwhile, out in the gardens...]
[Serena was feeling a cold gust of something blow over her.]
[She turned, wondering what was going on. No, wait - Was that an old lady in a shawl?]
[And then she blinked, as the thing laughed.]
- Oh, you can see me! Maybe it's you, the one I'm looking for...
[Serena stared at it, then, sweatdropping a bit.]
...Um. That depends on who you're looking for, I think, Ma'am, but...
[Well, she thought is was an old lady, anyway, but.]
[And the thing laughed.]
...Why, I'm looking for Serenity, young miss! My Serenity.
[And then it twirled around, and then leaned toward her, and whispered -
I've run out of Serenity's, you see - I never thought that would happen, but it did! It really was soo troublesome...
[Gwneodlen whined and tried to reach for her] "No! I am the queen! I am meant for it! You didnt want it, you gave it to me!! It is where I belong!!" "You do not belong anywhere, imposter!! You are just a flake, stuck in her own fantasies! and you are falling apart now, and you deserve it!" Her laughter rang as Gwendolen began sinking into a pool of darkness. "noo!!! Lenny!! Help me!!
[Allen didn't seem to be able to hear Gwendolen's words at all. He kissed Rillanne's hand again, laughing...]
- Nooo!
[Gwendolen cried - And then, the castle and balcony were gone in a swirl of sparkles, and an silver haired woman was smiling at her, beautiful and serene.]
...Why, it's you again...
[She smiled, and then waves to a table that hadn't been there a moment ago. It had a teakettle with a tea cosy on top, along with lots of scones, cream, and other kinds of food.]
But it's all good - Those nasty little red eyed things can't bother us here, anyway, after all...
[She means the mirror images, of course.]
[And then the woman smiled at her, and picked the tea kettle up.]
[Gwendolen looked at her blearily] "W-who are you...?" [..an angel..? a fairy..? she felt a sort of comfor from her, similar to from she felt from her mother. But the darkness in her reared in dislike] "A friend.." She poured her some tea and treats "Really, you are fortunate that you were in this world with them. In some worlds they realy mess you p more. Even until you become a hideous monster yourself, swamped in all your own negative feelings, with no more hope.... I hate to say it, but she were starting to edge close. But, there still is hope for you."
[Gwendolen stared at her some more, and then plopped down on the comfortable looking chair.]
...Tea, please?
[And the white haired lady laughed, and served her some tea along with a big helping of scones with cream and jam.]
- Bon Appitite, my dear! Good food always makes things better, I think.
[Gwendolen bit into one of the scones, grimacing, but then smiled a bit as she actually tasted it.]
...It's good!
[She then paused, and looked at the beautiful lady. The lady didn't look young, really, but she did look beautiful and regal, she thought. Gwendolen twitched a bit, wondering if she was going to look as good as this when she was old and white haired.]
[But anyway -]
...What did you mean by "It's you again, though? Did I ever meet you before?
[And now it was the lady's turn to pause, a scone half to her lips.]
- You're right. That's odd - I was so sure I'd just seen you recently...
[And she tilted a head again, her cape billowing behind her.]
[Gwendolen blinked again. That cape...]
[And then she stared, as the billowing cape turned into the exact shape that the shadowy thing she'd seen earlier for a moment.]
[...So just why had the Mirror Images seem to hate that shadowy thing, again?]
[The regal lady, however, did not seem to realize anything was strange.]
- But never mind that, my dear - For now, I want to ask you a question.
[And she took another sip of her tea, smiling.]
...What's your name, Young Miss? I think you might be a relative of some kind, you see, since you did manage to come here in the first place and all...

"You pushed that vase over on purpose! I saw it!"

[Lita said, waving toward the ink spattered floor and girls.]
...Didn't your Mama teach you that you had to clean up your own messes, eh, Young Miss?

- You're looking for serenity, Ma'am? I had no idea that peace of mind was the sort of thing one could just misplace...
[And the shadow laughed at her, gently but oddly menacingly.]
...You'll be surprised at the things one keeps misplacing, once one gets older, my dear...
[And then it tilted her head, looking at her.]
Youth is sooo precious! It's really wasted on the young, don't you think?
[And then, it disappeared, just like that.]
[Serena stared at the empty garden, then, and put her arms around herself.]
[So what had happened, just now?]
[And later that night...]
[Gwendolen was wandering around in a nightmare.]
[Her castle in the Gold Kingdom was right there, but even though she walked and walked, it always seemed to float away, just out of reach.]
[And then, the castle windows opened - And a blonde girl came out, Allen at her side.]
...I'm so glad you came home to us, my lady Rillanne...
[He said, and then knelt down and kissed her hand. Rillanne laughed as he did that, and then looked at Gwendolen, a mocking expression on her face.]
- See, Imposter? I have everything back, now. Everything.

...And now - I am the Queen!
