[Lucia sweatdropped at that. Shindig? Sweet? Ewwww! The girl sounded like - like one of those pampered magicless school students or something!

[And then, she took a deep breath, and schooled her expressions.]

- Oh, that's too bad, but I'm glad you're here, of course, Miss Merida!

[She lied baldly, and then looked at the other people there, especially the male Gwendolen lookalike. Her eyes, however, slid right over Yuuko, who was daintly eating one of the chicken dumplings that came with the curry udon set.]

...Say, I have an idea - Why don't you and your friends all come with me to the dais, so you can see the ceremony properly?

[And then, she smiled at the young blond man.]

- And as for you, young man - Hmmm. Have you ever heard of somebody called Gwendolen Chant, by any chance? She looks a lot like you do, you see...

(Garron brightened up at that and nodded urgently) " yes, she is my sister. I have been searching for her! Do you know where she is here? Ease tell me!

[Lucia blinked for a moment at that, and then she smiled.]

...Why, of course!

[And then, she gave Garrina a languad smile.]

- Say, why don't you and your friends come over with me, to where the ceremony is taking place? Gwendolen is supposed to be there shortly, you see...

[And once she had the male Gwendolen lookalike, Merida's daughter, and all the people she assumed were their hanger-ons in one place, it would be much easier to keep an eye on them, she was pretty sure.]

[The only problem was if she could actually keep them under control, once they figured out what the ceremony was about, but she was pretty sure she had enough manpower to do that. Of course, it would be best if they didn't try to interfere at all, but...]

"yes, of course" [Garrin nodded again.]
"gounds good, ze!" [Marisa chirped, slurping up noodles rather sloppily]
[Alice and Patchoui were taring at Lucia cooly, sensing there was something suspicious about her. And that was saying something considering that Alice's mother was a demon goddess and Patchouli was best friends with a young vampire aristocrat]

[Yuuko, in the meanwhile, had finished up her food, and was now paying the Fox Boy for the entire crew's dinner.]

- Thank you, Yuuko-san - And please do visit our humble establishment again!

[The young kitsune said with a smile and a bow. Yuuko bowed back with a grin, and then turned toward Lucia with a seemingly careless smile.]

...OK, then, Garrin-kun - Let's go!

[And then, she snickered at Lucia.]

- You wouldn't mind if I tag along too, right?

[Lucia, in the meanwhile, was twitching as she focused on Yuuko. Why hadn't she noticed that such a - a eye catching woman was in the shop earlier, anyway? She wasn't sure how powerful the black haired woman was, but her aura was nothing to scoff at. Was she using a "notice me not" spell or what?]

...Yes, yes, that's fine.

[She groaned eventually, and then turned her attention to Merida's daughter and her friends, sniggering a bit as she sensed that they didn't like her a bit. Oh, yes, this was more like it - She was used to people who didn't like her or feared her, after all.]

- And what about you, ladies? Are you coming too?

"[of course." [Garring nodded and stood up]
[Lucia looked at the other witches]"You sould come along. The ceremony shall be starting soon."
"Aw, all ready?" [Marisa strecthed] "Gee, I didn't get to make acqauntainces with that manyother witches yet! Swap magc info and all that"
"Info that you can steal?" [Patchouli huffed, sippong tea]
"not steal!" [marisa winked]"Borowin and adaptin!"

[Lucia huffed at that, then. Borrowing and adapting, indeed! What about sticking to the tried and true methods, like a decent witch would? Those girls and their facinication with the new fangled...]

[And then, she twitched a bit, as she remembered a much younger Gwendolen happily going through the spellbooks Lucia had lent her and making up her own spells on the fly. Why did she keep do that? And more important, how? Those classes of spells had been entirely new to her at that point in her life, and yet...]

[Because it's fun, silly!]

[Merida's giggled in her memories, and Lucia shook her head, annoyed. Magic wasn't supposed to be fun, damn it...]

[...And maybe Gwendolen was just better at those things then she was.]

[Lucia shook her head, then - Like hell Gwendolen was better then her! Gwendolen had been nothing but a normal spoiled witch-child when Lucia first met her, even if her aura had been blazing like a tiny bonfire - ]

(Oh, come on, now, Lucia - You didn't ever think she'd actually succeed in stealing her brother's lives, right? Even if it was you that gave her the idea in the first place. She was only friggin' five years old, after all!)

[......But Gwendolen had lost control over those lives already, and yet......]

(And yet, Dear Gwennie, even now, has much more power then you ever had, or probably ever will. It's like you expected her to turn from a mountain into a molehill once she lost the boost to her powers, but all she did was turn into a much smaller mountain! Right, Lucia?)

[Lucia shook her head, then, irritably. It made no sense - The young Gwendolen she'd first met hadn't been that strong or powerful, she was sure of it! Why was she still so much stronger then Lucia herself was, anyway?]

(...She was only three years old when you first met her, silly Lucia. And she was only five when she succeeded in stealing away the extra lives of a potential future Chestromanci!)

[The voice in Lucia's head laughed.]

(And how many years had she managed to keep those extra lives under her control, again?)

[Lucia shook her head at the voice inside her mind, irritably. None of that would matter anymore, once the ritual succeeded.]

[...Right?]

[And so she shook her head, and smiled at Garrin and the others, beckoning them to follow her.]

...Very well, then, everybody - Follow me!

[And soon enough, they all came to the place the ceremony was supposed to take place.]

[It waas a large elaborate spell cirnicle in the clearing of the forest. the witches were gathering about, most of the witches were excited, some bored, some suspicious. Lucia takes her seat with the other higher witches at the small stage in the front. Gwendolen is there as well, beaming proudly, still clad in her ornate gown and crown. Garin lets out a soft gas upon seeing her and tries to go to her, but there seemed to be a magic barrier holding him back

[Hotaru, in the meanwhile, was sighing as she looked at Gwendolen from the other side of yet another magical barrier. She was still dressed in her Halloween Witch outfit, and her wand was in her hands as she fiddled with it. Hmmm, OK, so it was a low powered toy, but it still could be used as a real magical wand if neccesary, it seemed...]

...Gwendolen-san - Are you really sure that just doing what they say is a good idea?

[Hotaru said, as she gestured at all the other witches and other people looking at them.]

- This feels awfully fishy, if you get my meaning...

"Shut up!" [Gwendolen hisses at her in annoyance] "You are just lucky that I convinced them not to turn you into something! Now you leave me alone until I have use for you!"

[Patchouli and Alice were frowning at the big spell circle on the ground, recognizing it as a dark magic one that involved a high level demon] "This can not be good..."

[Hotaru, in the meanwhile, was staring at the magical array, the data she had as Sailor Saturn and the memory shards she'd gotten from her time when she'd been inhabited by Mistress 9 both itching in her mind.]

...Is that what I think it is?

[She said with a sigh.]

- Oh, well, of course it is, with my luck...

[And then, she turned toward Gwendolen again, and started to power up her toy wand that came with the Halloween Witch outfit.]

[If she'd been just Sailor Saturn at this point, she'd probably tried to kill Gwendolen by now, as that was probably the most cost efficient way to disrupt the ritual - Especially since Gwendolen-san would probably come back anyway, since this was Infinity.]

[But now, she was Tomoe Hotaru as well, and...Oh, well, she might as well face it - She'd gotten soft, and she liked it that way, thank you very much.]

...Say, Gwendolen-san? What in the world is this ritual supposed to do, anyway, according to that woman looking at us from up there?

"It is to summon the great witch goddess Walgiora Walpurgis" [Gwendolen said matter of factly[ "And with her power us witches are going to regain our full grandeur and take over the worlds!" [And these were actually good talented iwtches, not a lousy lot of seedy hedge witches like last time]
[Lucia began her speech]

...Welcome, ladies and the occasional gentlemen, to the ceremony which would change the world. We witches have lived much too long in the shadows, trying to keep ourselves safe from those magicless boffoons which are the majority in far too many worlds. But now, everything will change with the summoning of our Dark Mother, the Great Witch Goddess, Walgiora Walpurgis!

[Lucia said, starting on her pre-canned speech.]

[Yuuko, in the meanwhile, was sighing as even more images flickered through her mind.]

......So she seriously thinks she could keep a Walpugis from one of those worlds under her control? Good grief!

[Garrin, in the meanwhile, was staring down at the girl in the crown and fancy dress who looked so much like Garrin himself, and biting his lips. He wasn't at all sure what was going on, but this didn't look good, at all.]

[Most of the witches cheered at that. Some were concerned however, and some were confused]
[Marisa raised an eyebrow] "Oh, one of those types, huh. This will be fun."

"Sister..." [Garrin tried to push through again]

"And here is the princess of the ball and tribbute, Miss Gwencolen Chant!"
[Gwendolen stepped up regally, waving]

[Some of the other witches, in the meanwhile, were facepalming.]

..Why does she keep acting like this, anyway? I didn't think Lady Lucia was that good at mind control, honestly...

[One of them said, while her friend sighed.]

- I don't think you're thinking about the right kind of mind control here, but - Maybe she actually believes she really is powerful enough to control the Walpurgis?

[The two witches looked at each other, then, and smiled uncertainly.]

...Um. Normally, I'd just laugh at delusions like that, but...

- Yeahhh. I mean, this is Gwendolen Chant we're talking about, after all - Every time we think we'd seen the last of her, she keeps turning up and turning up, just like a bad penny!

[And then, one of them sighed again.]

......And is it just me, or is she actually getting more powerful each time she turns up?

[The two witches looked at each other, and sweatdropped.]

[And in the meanwhile, Garrin had managed to push himself right close to the edge of the magical forcefield.]

...Gwendolen! Gwennie, listen to me!

[It felt very natural to call her Gwennie, for some reason, he felt - But he had no time to think about that right now.]

[Gwendolen hesistated, feeling something familiar, a faint voice calling to her... She was snapped out of it by Lucia placing a hand on her shoulder] "Are you ready, my dear?"
[Gwendolen nodded eargerly] "Yes!" [She walked to the edge of the spell circle. There were 6 difefrent colored crystals on the circle, were they each containing a trapped girl? The sin representatatives. And Gwendolen would represent pride. Ironic since Rillianne, or rather Gwendolen in cases. represented pride for another spell that one of Lucia's other selves named Elluka was after. That was another story.
The witches chanted the spell and danced as the moon was getting into the right position, the spell circle glowed]
"And now, it is time for the sacrifice" [Gwendolen was suddenly magically pinned onto the circle, her haughtiness replaced with horror and confusion.]
"W-what is this?! Let me go! This was not part of the plan!"
"Let the great witch mother receive the princess and chosen sin's blood!" [A blade appeared over her head] "nooo!" [The blae dropped, and Gwendolen's head was sliced clean from her shoulders...]

...Noooo!

[Garrin screamed, and ran toward his sister's body as the energies swirled, and the magical barrier came down.]

- Come on, Gwennie, I never even got to meet you properly!

[He cried out, and then, he put his hand out.]

[Lucia, in the meanwhile, was laughing up a storm.]

...Sometimes, things don't work at all like you planned, but sometimes -

[And then, she looked at Gwendolen's body, a dark smile coming over her lips.]

- You keep coming back, and coming back, and coming back - Do you have any idea how much I hated that?

How dare a brainless spoiled girl like you have more magic then I do, anyway!

[She hissed under her breath.]

[Yuuko, in the meanwhile, was looking through the flickering possibilites, her eyes hooded.]

[And now - Comes the Walpugis.]

[there were mixed feelings at this action among the crowd of witches. some were shocked, some were angry, some were accepting.
Marisa was aghast. She had never seen anyone killed in fornt of her eyes, even if that snotty gwendolen did probably deserve it. Patchouli shook her head.] "Human sacrifice. Usually not a good thing...]
[A storm gathered in the sky and swirling with dark energy. The witches could feel an immense magical presence coming.
During the confusion, Garrin slipped in and picked up his sister's body. He used magic to temporarily put her head back on and stop the bleeding, and carried her off. He had to bring her back. Even if he had to use one of the dark necromancy spells from her suspicious books!

...Wait a minute, wait a minute - Hey, Garrin-kun!

[Yuuko said, and then ran up to Garrin, who was trying to carry Gwendolen's body again. Nobody was paying attention to them anymore in the meelee, which was a good thing, she thought.]:

Stopping her body from dying completely is not a bad idea, I don't think, but nothing is going to work if her spirit and soul isn't there - And for the moment, it isn't.

[And then, she pointed at the dark shadow in the skies.]

...Gwen-chan's soul and spirit is over there for now, OK? I mean, there's little point in a human sacrifice if all you're going to use is the death energies, after all...

[Garrin stared at her - And that was when a small voice piped up, right next to his feet.]

...Hello, Garrin Ambersmith. Are you in need of a Wish?

[And then, the white thing smiled, almost closing it's red eyes.]

- I can grant any Wish you want, as long as you make a Contract with me and become a Magical Boy!

[Yuuko almost stomped on the thing then and there, but then she reconsidered.]

...Um. That thing is not lying, I'm afraid - And though normally, I'd strongly advise against making a Contract with it, in this particular case...

[Garrin sweatdropped and went on, carrying Gwendolen. He had a bad feeling about that white critter anyway.
The storm was building up. A figure appeared in the sky, dressed in an ornate gown and laughing joyrfully, but tinged with sadness and madness]

[The dark figure focused her gaze on Lucia, then.]

< So you have called Us here, have you? I wonder why you ever thought that was a good idea... >

[Garrin, in the meanwhile, had gotten away from the witches who had surrounded them while they were mostly distracted by the figure in the skies.]

- Come on, Gwennie, come on, Gwennie, you can do this, I know it!

[He mumbled under his breath, as he hugged Gwendolen's body.]

[Yuuko, in the meanwhile, was now looking up at the skies. There was a shining ball of light right next to the dark figure. It seemed to be tethered to both the dark figure and the ritual grounds which were now soaked with Gwendolen's blood with dark strings covered with zagged bolts of energy - And it also was practically buzzing with annoyance and rage.]

"Yes, our witch mother." [Lucia cutsied, feeling a bit of fear, and triumph. She had done it, Walpurgis was here!]
"I see. fufufu. The Show has begun!]

[Alice turned to Marisa, crossing her arms] "Well Marisa, surely we can not let this go on."
"Maybe, maybe not." [Marisa shrugged casually, shaking off her shock of seeing Gwendolen's death] "It certainly is interesting. Heh heh, I can just hear Reimu now, I told you so! The leader going for some evil plan or another! this is an incident! Not that she'd bother with it since it doens't concern her or gensokyou."
[Reimu in the eanwhile sneezed at that. there had been a lot of witches poking around recently. Marisa should be having fun. Matybe an inciddnt. Whatever. If it didn't theate Gensokyou, it wans't ehr problem[

[The Walpugis sweatdropped a bit, then. Wait, that was all the woman was going to say, after bothering to summon her here and all?]

[And then, she looked at the little ball of light floating next to her, and snickered.]

(...So angry, little sacrificial maiden! So maybe you actually have something of interest to say to me, eh?)

[And in the meanwhile...]

[Garrin was waving his hands in Marisa and her friends direction, looking quite a bit like Gwendolen in a snit for a moment.]

- Hello, young misses - I know you people must be busy and all, with that thing floating up in the skies, but I would be very grateful if you could help me out with saving my sister's life first, OK!?

[Yuuko, on the other hand, was now intently poking at her Phone - And then, she pointed it at the Walpugis floating in the skies, and took a holo of it, grinning, and sent a text message.]

Hello, Reimu-san. I think this is a matter relevant to your interest?

[Well, it should be - That thing probably could badly damage the Gensokyo in Infinity that Reimu was protecting just by crashing into it, after all, if they were unlucky...]
