[And that was when Sayaka's phone started to ring! Sayaka stared at it for a long moment, and then put it to her ear.]

...Hi, Kyosuke.

[She said, tearfully.]

- Sayaka! Are you really OK!? I had this awfully strange dream, and then, I found myself right back in my bedroom at home! I mean, I thought I'd gone to the concert and all, and you were there too, but...

[Rin, in the meanwhile, was sighing.]

...I wish you'd had enough self preservation instinct to get away from the concert hall in general and take Mama with you, but whatever, whatever.

[And then, she rubbed her head, looking at their onconsious mother, who had started to moan and flap her hands about.]

- I'm your twin sister, Kagamine Rin. Mostly. I think.

[And then, Rin sighed, and de-transformed.]

...So let's go home first, and make sure Mom is OK, and then talk it out, all right?

"It, It's ok." [Sayaka sighed] "well, it's just a dream. I'm fine."
"Thank goodness. I'm sorry, I may have over reacted."
"No, it's ok." [Sayaka but her lip, thinking] "Um, would you, like to maybe get togetehr togetehr, for a music session? Tomorrow?"
"Ah? Ssure, that sounds nice, Sayaka!"
"Great! I'll see you tomorrow then1"
[Kyouko felt a bit disappointed at that. Was it, jealousy? About Kyousuke?]

[But_" [Len stammered, grabbing her wrist.
Rin frowned at him and pulled away] "We can discuss this later!" [She readed towards their mother]

[Mami looked up at Kyoko, then, noticing her expression was slightly glum.]

...Come on, Kyoko - I'm sure Sayaka-san would be happy to go Witch-hunting with you later.

[And then, she grinned at Sayaka, and then turned toward Madoka and Homura.]

- Or hmm...Maybe we can all go and do something safe and fun for a change! What do you think, Madoka-chan? Do you have any ideas?

[Madoka groaned at that.]

......Um, I think we should avoid amusement parks for the time being, somehow, but...

[And in the meanwhile, Rin and Len's mother had started to wake up.]

...Rin...Len...What happened???

[She mumbled, and started to rub at her eyes.]

- Miku-chan was singing, and then...

[Madoka brightened up again ] "But of course! That's a great idea, Mami sempai! Maybe, we can go shopping!"
"yes, wonderful idea, Madoka!"
"but, it's getting late noow. We should go home." [Maodka clapped ehr hans] "Oh I know! a slumber party! "
"Sure! should we do it at your house or mine?"
[Kyouko sighed. Huh, a little unusual Mami was already so upbeat so soon after what they found out...]

"Oh hi Mama!" [Rin smiled] " You just fainted. you must be exahauted after all your research work, right? Well, we should go home now."

[Madoka thought about this.]

...I think your place will be better, Mami-san.

[And then, she thought about this some more, and looked a bit apologetic.]

- Ahh, I probably wouldn't be able to go to the slumber party if it's going to be tonight, though - My parents would be worried if I don't tell them about it first, after all...

[Mami, in the meanwhile, was looking almost artificially bright.]

...Oh, yes, of course, Madoka - But we can have a slumber party later, right?

- Why, yes, of course!

[And then, Madoka, Mami and Sayaka all looked at their schedules, and decided that the next saturday would be a good time to try it.]

...Hey, you're coming too, right, Homura-chan?

[Madoka said with a smile, while Homura shook her head, though her lips where twitching.]

- Maybe, maybe not. That depends on all kinds of factors...

[The girls all went home, then. Mami went back to her apartment, too, Kyoko following behind her.]

- And now we're home! You can use your old room, Kyoko...

[Mami said with a smile - And then, she stopped dead.]

[A Kyubey was looking up at her from the middle of the kitchen, a meaningless smile plastered on it's face.]

(!madoka smilef warmly at homura)'" id be happy if you did come. It wpuld be fun to be together. And you neef a fun break."
" yes i suppose yiure tight" homura tried a small smile
" do you want to slerp over tonight? I mean if its ok with your parents."
Homura glanced away " i have nonparents really..."

( kyouko growled and took out her spear) " you... You furty demon rat..."
( bebe snarled at kyubey, baring her sharp little teeth)

[Outside the amusement park]

[Madoka looked at Homura, sadly, and then gave her a hug.]

...Homura-chan...

[Homura shook her head, then, annoyed at herself.]

- Well, OK, actually, I do have parental units, technically speaking, but neither of them are even in the country at the moment, and -

[Madoka looked at her in dismay. Homura made herself smile, and hugged Madoka back.]

...Don't worry, Madoka, it's just that I was so sick for a long while, and - They're both pretty good at sending me the money I need, and I'm supposed to talk to their lawyer if I need anything extra, so it's not like I'm - I'm starving or anything, OK?

[It wasn't like she was in Kyoko's situation, after all.]

[Madoka, in the meanwhile, was biting her lip.]

...I...I don't think I like your parents, Homura-chan! That's no way to take care of your own child!

[In Mami's apartment]

[The Kyubey laughed, then, and got off the floor.]

- Don't worry about it, Tomoe Mami, Sakura - I only came by to get my favorite food bowl, after all!

[He said, one paw on food bowl in question, and sniggered. And then, he looked at Mami, his red eyes glinting.]

...How are you feeling, Tomoe Mami? You look strangely calm, at least on the outside...

[Mami stared at him, then, feeling the hysteria bubbling up inside her.]

- I do? The only thing I want to do is stamp you into bloody paste on the floor!

[The Kyubey giggled, and then jumped away from a stab from Kyoko's spear.]

...Please don't do that, Mami, that would be an awful waste of resources - Mostly mine.

[And then, he quickly went up to Mami, and got a good look at her Soul Gem.]

- Aha! The experiment does seem to be working the way we thought it would, yes?

[Mami stared at him, then, her eyes wide.]

...What experiment!?

[The Kyubey laughed, then.]

...Why, don't you remember that little experiment we did, about an year after you became a Magical Girl? We spent a whole summer doing all kinds of visualization exercises...

( homura sighed) " youre so lucky madoka. To have loving parents who are there for you..."
" and theyll care fir you too!" ( madika let her go from her hug but kept her hand) " cime on lets go home. Dad will make us hor chocolate!)

( kyubey dodgrd away from bebe attempting to bite him. All right sure, there was that recent secret experiment he did on mami tomoe as she slept making a few modifications to her soul gem...

...You want to bring a friend over for dinner? Sure, why not! Your mother called and said she might be late, though...

[Her father said, and then he lowered his voice.]

......Did something happen, Madoka?

[Madoka sighed, then - Well, yeah, of course her Papa would figure out something was wrong...]

- A little bit, but it's no big deal.

[And then, she smiled a bit at her Phone.]

...Hey, Papa - You can make us some of your famous hot chocolate, right?

[And about 30 minutes later, Madoka and Homura had both made it back to Madoka's house.]

...Papa - This is my friend, Akemi Homura!

[Madoka said, forcing herself to smile - And then, she blinked at she realized that Homura's eyes were wavering a little. Hahaha - She actually looking a bit nerveous, if Madoka wasn't misreading things.]

[And then, she blinked, as a cute and blushing Homura-chan with glasses suddenly appeared before her mind's eye, superimposed on the real Homura. Haah?]

[In Mami's apartment]

[The Kyubey sighed a bit, then. The experiment with the visulizations had worked much better then expected - Mami's Soul Gem had started to go slightly more Grief Seed-like in less then an year and a half after she'd started to meditate regularly with the images he'd provided to her, and she was lasting longer and longer without needing to clean her Soul Gem, too. The images had been garnered from the minds of countless Puella Magi on the verge of going Witch had been very useful indeed, it seemed - And so, he'd tried to take things to the next level, by inscribing some of basic Witch energy line patterns onto her Soul Gem directly. He'd have loved to stick close to her longer and monitor her, but...]

...Very well, then - Goodbye for now, Tomoe Mami. We'll meet again, I'm pretty sure...

[And then, he shook his food bowl with a paw.]

- And thanks for the food bowl - I liked it, I really did!

[And then, he quickly disappeared from Mami's apartment, shaking his head. The problem was, the Kyubey thought idily, was that he really did like the food bowl. Those damn human were so corrosive with their emotions and all...]

[Could that be Homura from the past? Did she used to be shy, frail and adorably awkward? Well, it fit her just as well as that cool, dark elegant, glasses less Homura.
They sat down and soon Madoka's father brought over the two cups of hot chocolate] "Here you go girls!"
"Thanks Papa!"
"Thank you, Mister Kaname..."

[Kyouko growled and slammed her fist upon the wall] "Damn it! That little creep..."
[Mami sighed, tears welling up behing her eyes. There was a slight twitch upon her soul gem ring, and a faint whisper at the back of her mind. But it was quickly gone. Hm, it was probably nothing.] "i shall, go make some tea then..." [She placed Bebe onto the sofa and made her way to the kitchen. Along the way she passed the terranium with Butterfly was with her garden. Mami looked at her sadly. So, she used to be a magical girl as well? She could guess, she probably used to be Nagisa's friend Hanako Minagishi. She appeared in the same area, her love of flowers especially roses, the cotton ball familiars...] " Oh Minaghishi san...

[Madoka's house]

[Madoka's father looked at both of them.]

...So what happened, then?

[He asked, gently. Madoka gulped - Uh, oh, she had to make something up, and make it believable, or he'd never let it go. Her Papa could be ferocios about some things.]

[And so she gave Homura a look, and cleared her throat.]

...Well, um, we were at Hatsune Miku's concert, and I loved it, and everything was going so well, and then, um, I went to the bathroom with Homura-chan, and when we came back - Miku-san was gone, and everybody was milling about in a semi-panic, and some of the fans were even crying! And then, everybody was trying to get to the exit, and...

[Homura nodded, then.]

...One of the other fans was still bawing his eyes out, but he came to help when he realized that we were almost being crushed by the rushing people. He seemed to know his way about, and said we should get on the stage until the rush was over, because it didn't look like there was a fire or anything and it would be safer to wait. And so we did.

[Madoka nodded at that. There'd been a young man in a "I love Miku" T-shirt who actually had been helping people out, now that she thought about it...]

- Yeah, he really was a hero, I think.

[And then, she turned toward her Papa.]

...Oh, Papa - I was really scared!

[And in Mami's apartment...]

[Mami shook her head, then.]

...I wonder if the little cottonballs would eat cat food or something...

[She murmured, with a sad smile.]

" oh madoka..," ( madokas fatjer hugged her. ) " its all right now. Youre all right..."
( madoka sniffled) thanks papa.." ( she smiled) " i think, i want to thank that young man. Maybe we can invite him for dinner?"
" i dont see why not madoka. That is, if you can find him, i suppose."
" im sure we will." Madoks sipped her cocoa, shrugging

( mami went to make the tea and brought it back to kyouko) " here you are..,"
" thanks. " (kyouko smacked her lips snd dined on the tea and cakes)
"...do you think, there is any way to turn the witches back?

[The Kaname house]

[And then, all of a sudden, there was somebody knocking on the door!]

...Tomohisa! Tomohisa, open the door, please, something happened at the concert Madoka and her friends were supposed to go to, and -

[And then, Madoka's mother came careening through the door as her father opened it.]

- Oh, you're all right, Madoka - Thank goodness!

[Madoka stared at her mother for a moment, and then went up to her and gave her a hug.]

...Oh, Mom.

[And then, she looked at her quizzically.]

- But Mom - Didn't Dad text you or something?

[Junko sighed, and rubbed at her head.]

...That would have worked if my phone wasn't stuck in a hole someplace now, ugh...

[Mami's apartment]

[Mami looked at Kyoko, and sighed a bit.]

...I don't really think that is possible, Kyoko. I mean, you can't turn a baby bird back into an egg, as a rule of thumb.

[And then, she patted Bebe with a sad smile, and gave her a hug.]

- Bebe and the little ones aren't going around causing people grief, though, and they aren't unhappy, either, I don't think.

...So that's better then the alternative, right?

( junko shook her head in annoyance and headed to the liquor cabinet) " i was very lucky to get the phone out and there wasnly too much damage. Some messages were lost though so thats gonna be a problem! Gives me more work to catch up on) ( she poured herself and glass and diwned it. She then listened as madoka shared what she told her father abiut what happened that evening)

" yes..." ( mami handed a cup of tea to bebe) " i hope, we wont end ip that esy, when wevbecome witches..."
" you mean if we become witches

[Madoka's house]

[And then, Homura took a deep breath.]

...Ahem! Ma'am, I'm called Akemi Homura, by the way, and thank you for letting me come here?

[Mami's apartment]

[Mami sighed again, still petting Bebe.]

...I...don't think we can avoid turning into Witches sooner or later. I mean, we can always die first, I suppose, but...

[And then, she wiped at her face, grimancing.]

- I'm not a very suicidal person as a general rule, Kyoko, though some people may disagree with that assesement.

[And then, she smiled a bit.]

...Maybe we should seriously consider retiring, and going to go live inside Sayaka-san's world, eh?

[Mami looked at the little Witches looking up at her, and smiled a bit more happily, then.]

- But not right now, I don't think. I think - I think we should make a list, actually.

[Kyoko looked at her.]

...A list?

[Mami grinned.]

- Yes, a list of the stuff we want to do, while we're still, you know, really us. You know, I always really wanted to go to that gigantic amusement park in Urayasu...

"Oh so you're the Homura Akemi that transferred into class the other day!" [Junko chuckled as she sipped her beer] "Madoka has told me all about you. You're just as beautiful as she described!"
"Ah, a pleasure." [Homura blushed]
"Well you just take good care of my daughter, you hear?" [Junko winked. Homura lost her composure for a moment and groaned]
"Mama!" [Madoka blushed as well.]

[Kyouko chuckled at that] "yeah, that does sound pretty good. Yeah, good ideas. I should give it a thought." [Kuouko chuckled wryly and put her feetn up upon the table] "Hm. That's out by the countryside. huh?"
"I believe so, in the Dokiro provence."
"Dokiro provence huh? I got some business there."

[Mami's apartment]

...You do?

[Mami said with a grin. Kyoko grinned back at her, feeling better already about this entire mess.]

- That's where my horse is! ...Wait, I did tell you about my horse, right?

[Kyoko took out a piece of paper, then, and started to write everything down.]

...The big amusement park in Urayasu. M'horse. Since we're doing a "things we wanna do" list, I suppose we should just write everything that comes to mind, right? We can figure out if it's actually doable later...

[Kyoko looked at the paper, then.]

- I wanna make sure my family's grave is OK. Hmm, wait, maybe I should go visit my other relatives while I'm about that? I also want to go to Hakone and see the sites, and visit one of those hot springs it's famous for...

[Mami sighed, then.]

...You've got a good point about family graves - I'd better see that things are arranged properly and everything. And yes, I better go talk to some of my other relatives, I suppose...

[Mami sighed again, then, thinking of some of her other relatives. Some of them were quite OK, but...]

[Madoka's house]

[Homura grinned, then, and gave Junko a small salute.]

- I'll try my best, Ma'am!

[Madoka stared at her for a moment, getting even redder.]

...Homura-chaaaan! Oh, come onnnn...

"yeah. Sounds good." [Kyouko sighed and shurgged, finishing off her snacks and stood up] "Well, I guess I'll take a shower, now. Been a big night."
"Of course." [Mami started to clean up the china ware] "You rememeber where the bathroom is?"
"Course I do."
"I shall provide you with a change of clothes." [It should fit decently enough, even though some where too large in the chest area.
their conversation were interrupted by their soul gems bblinking, sensing the presence of a nearby witch]
"Oh. A witch..."
"huh." [Kyouko frowned] "What should we do?"
"Well, we can not let it go about and hurt anyone. we should go after it." [Mam iput the dishes back and got ready to go out.
Bebe chirped excitedly and hopped onto Mami's shoulder] "A sister! A sister!"
[The magical girls and sweets witch headed out. Before long they found the barrier, a child's palyroom made from a drawing. There was the sound of a girl crying. they found familiars, cartoonish grils made form crayon drawings, bouncing a large ball, which upon closer look was a girl whose body was swollen up into a ball. Mami recognized her as a classmate] "Ah! Haruhi san!"

Help meeee!

[Haruhi whined as she flailed about, looking a bit like a ball with arms and legs.]

[The Witch in the Barrier, in the meanwhile, seemed to be a bit sad and moopy.]

<...Where are my Onee-chans? I miss them so much, but it's been ages and ages since they came over to play with me! >

[Bebe laughed at that, and clapped her hands.]

< - Ohhh! You have a Big Sis too? >

[Mami and Kyoko looked at each other, sweatdropping. Were Bebe and the new Witch actually...talking with each other???]

[The other witch nodded, a pout upon her pale, crayon lined face] "Uh-huh! Izabel onee- chan! Her artwork is so pretty! She says they're all her originals! And we liked to draw together all the time!" [the witch took out a crayon and started to draw stars on the chalkboard wall] "Though it did get annoying when she told my new playmates to kill themselves and sent her familiars on them. And it's hard for her to draw sometimes 'cause she's made out of rock. And how dare some people call her artwork fakes!"
"Aw! " [Bebe toddled over and hugged the crayon scribbling witch] "I'm sure your oneechan will come back soon!"
[Mami blinked as she overheard their words. strange, she could understand more and more now. Hm, an art witch made of stone ? Ah yes, she remembered battling that one. She was not too much of a challenge, especially after Mami critiqued her 'original' artwork... Did she still have her grief seed?

[Mami searched through her Grief Seed bag, mumbling to herself. No, it wasn't this one, nor that one...]

- Aha!

[She said with a smile as she found the right one, and held it up to the light.]

< ...Hah? >

[The Witch said, and sniffed at the air.]

< Ohhh! I smell the smell of Onee-chan Number One! >

...No dear, she's not quite ready to play with you yet - But just wait a couple of minuntes, OK?

[Mami said, and then, she got the Music Box Thing out of her other bag, and stuck the Grief Seed into it. OK, it was time to see if that worked...]

[And soon enough, a new Mini Witch popped up next to the Music Box Thing, looking around her curiously.]

< ...What is this? What is this? >

[And then, she spun around, looking very much like a spinning rock for a moment.]

< - Ohhhh - Albertine! >

" ah! Big sister izabel! " ( albertine cheered and ran over and hugged her happily)
" albertine. Hello" ( the artist witch smiled and hugged her with her stony arms)
( albertine pouted then and folded her arms) " where have you been! Its been ages! I missed you!"
" im sorry little one."( izabel sighed) " i have been asleep"
" bah! Nap time!"( the child stuck out her tongue) " anyway i am glad you are back! Play with me now! There are new playmates here and a fun new ball!"
(Kyouko blinked, watching the situation)" so... What do we do about this mami?"
" i am glad those sisters have been reunited..."( mami murmured, stroking haruhis puffy face to comfort her. She had the sudden image of how nice it would be to bring this miserable figure here home and feed her and make her feel good..."

[And then, Mami took a deep breath, and turned back toward the Witch.]

...Hey, you! Since we got your Big Sis back, I'll think it'll be fair if you turned our friend here back to normal too, don't you think?

[And then, she sneered at the Witch, trying to make herself sound and look like she meant what she was going to say next.]

- Otherwise, I'll - I'll take your Oneechan away again, and she'll never be able to play with her again!

[And then she giggled, in spite of herself.]

...And then, we'll all have the most fun tea parties for ever and ever, but not you. You'll never get to taste the cakes, or drink the tea, or just talk with us about things that are fun, ha ha ha -

[And then, Mami pointed a dramatic finger at Haruhi.]

- So you change her back right now soonest! All right!?

( and albertine scowled and stomped her foot in frustration) " no way! Izabel is my big sister! "
" you heard me, young lady." ( mami scolded(
" you cant tell me whT to do, new big sister! This is my world!"
" however if yoi cooperate and be a good girl, you can join the tea party as well! The more the merrier!"
(Kyouko blinked, realizing that mami was now speaking the witch language herself) " ok, enough standing around here!" ( kyiuko launched her chain link spear at albertine. It managed to ensanre her and cut her cheek
Albertine sniffled ) " that hurts! You meanie!" (She burst into tears, her cries extremely lound and reverberating the room. Kyouko yelled and grabbed her ears from the piercing noise, unable to stand it)

[And then, Enchanted Haruhi started to bawl, too - But at least she had a good excuse, Mami thought as she groaned again.]

[And that was when Bebe poked at Mami. She then pointed at the Witch, and then at the Music Box Thing.]

...What? Oh, Bebe-chan, I do see what you mean, I think, but - I've never put a whole entire Witch inside that thing before!

[Mami sighed, and patted Bebe on the head.]

- I don't think she'll fit inside there at all, OK?

[Bebe nodded at that, and then she looked at the other Mini Witches. They squeaked among themselves for a couple of seconds - And then, Bebe pointed at Mami again, motioning her out of the way.]

[Mami tilted her head, puzzled, and then grabbed Haruhi and rolled her out of the way, too. She wasn't going to take chances with her poor schoolmate's life, after all...]

[And then, the Mini Witches posed and attacked - ]

[- Aand Mami's eyes almost bulged out of their sockets as the Witch was suddenly cut into three pieces, and a large chunk of what seemed to be her heart came flying her way!]

...Whaaat!?!?

[Mami gingerly picked up the heart, and looked at it. The Witch Barrier was coming down as they watched, but it seemed to take a very long time, about five times as much as usual, Mami noted faintly. And the meaty parts of the heart were fading away too, leaving a Grief Seed in it's wake...]
