after a few tries, she sighed] "It said the nu,ber is no longer in use..."
[Nagisa groaned at that in disappointment
[eventually, the twins stirered and woke up blearily]
"..rin... Len..?"
"..mother...?"
"oh my darklings"she embraced them "are you all right?"

[Len mumbled as he woke up. That word sounded strangely familiar, but...]
[And in the meanwhile, Annabelle was blinking, too. OK, why had she just called her children "Darklings", again?]
[But never mind that, even though the word sounded strangely familiar. She had other things to talk about, now.]
- What happened? I was so worried, Rin, Len...
[And in the meanwhile, in a different place in the hospital...]
[Mami was still staring at her phone, thinking. Mizuchi-san had this bad habit of wrecking her mobile phones regularly, now that she thought about it. Hmmm...]
...Please wait a moment, Nagisa-chan?
[She called yet another phone number, and started to talk.]
- So do you have her new phone number? Oh, thank you, Kurebayashi-san, I'll owe you one for that...
[And then, she takes a deep breath, and starts to fiddle with the phone again.]
...Nagisa-chan? Just - Wait a moment, OK? Mizuchi-san can be sort of difficult to talk to, now that I think about it...

"Yu're back.."
"Yes, Im back. and I was so worried when I recied the call form the hospital!" she hugged them
"We're fight. Well, I dont now, what happened really..." Len frowned "I guess we faintted or somehting.."
[the phone rang again. it was Kurebaryashi again.]
"Just why would you want her number anyway, Tomoe?"
"I need to ask her a favor"
"And why would she grant a favor for you?"
"Well, its not quite for me. It's for a very sweet little girl I know..." Mami fidgeted

...What happened? You two don't regularly collapse at you concerts, right?
[Annabelle sighed, and patted her daughter's face. Rin woke up with a groan, then.]
- Wha...Mama? You're home already???
[And in the meanwhile, a fluffy white thing was looking at the Kagamine family from under a nearby bed, slowly blinking it's eyes. The twins's mother was vaguely familiar, too, now that he thought about it, Kyubey mused.]
[Interesting, indeed - But from when did he know her, or somebody like her? And where?]
[And outside the hospital...]
[Mami sighed, and turned around.]
Oh, come on, Kurebayashi-san, stop being such a wet blanket - I'll owe you one, OK? And my word is good, honest!
[Kurebarashi sighed at that.]
...Fine, fine. You'd better not blame me if things go pearshaped, though - Mizuchi Rinko is even weirder then she used to be, nowadays.
[And then, she told Mami Mizuchi Rinko's newest phone number.]
[Mami took a deep breath again, then, and called the new number, hoping it was still in use. The phone rang for a while, and then there was a crunching sound, like somebody had just dropped their phone.]
[And then, there was a sigh, and a cold giggle.]
...Tomoe Mami. What in the world are you calling me for, anyway? I thought you'd never get tired of sucking up to that white furry creep!

"whatever." the girl scoffed "so what do you want"
"Can you still heal sicknesses? My magical girl protogee, her mother is very ill. and it is veyr hard on little Nagisa chan. She is just a child! If you could save hermother, we could be in your debt..."
"Yes, I do arrived back, but then I got a call you were in the hospital"
"Well we had a gig... "
"We did rin, but I think we must have passed out somehow.." Len added
"oh... huh.."rn shrugged and hugged her mother "welcome home! I'm so happy!"
[they talked for a while] "by the way mother, what is that reasearch you told us abaout?

...Sure, sure, I can still heal peeps. I gotta warn you though, Tomoe - It doesn't work on everybody, not by a long shot.
[And then, Mizuchi Rinko groaned, and started to rub her neck - Not that Mami could see what the other girl was doing on the other side of the phone connection, of course.
- And you'd damn well better pay me for even trying to do that shit. It's exhausting, damn it!
[Mami stared at her phone, then, and sighed.]
- Alright, then. How much?
[They eventually agreed on 3 Grief Seeds for Mizuchi Rinko to try to heal Nagisa's mother, and two extra Seeds after that if she succeeded in making her any better. If Rinko actually succeeded in curing Momoe Naoko entirely, she'd get two more Grief Seeds in addition to that - Which meant that Mami had to get 7 Grief Seeds ready right now soonest, or else.]
[Mami sighed, then, and clinked off the phone. Oh, well - She'll find some way to do this, somehow. She always had been good at wriggling out of dangerous situations, after all.]
[...Except for the one time that she hadn't managed to do that at all.]
[Inside the hospital...]
[Annabelle sighed at that, and then took out her laptop.]
Well, you see...The problem is, I have no idea how to explain it in any way that makes sense, but...
[And then, she showed her children something on the computer screen. Len blinked, and then tilted his head.]
...Wait a minute, waaait a minute...That couldn't be us, right?

"I guess..."
[they stared again of the portrait of a pair of young, identical goldenhaired twins, a boy and a girl. they looked exactly like them.]
"this is apparently princess Rillianne and Prince Allen of Luciefienne. rilianne ended up the crown pprincess of Lucifienne and became the ruler while Allen was appently exiled form his royal status at a young age for political reasons..."

...On the other hand...Maybe you should go stay with your Mama for now. The party's almost going to be over anyway, after all...
[She patted Nagisa on the head, thinking, and then smiled.
Nagisa-chan? Can you do something for me? I have to go hunt up some Witches in a hurry now, and I know I promised to train you and all that, but I don't think I have to time to do that right now.
[She already had 3 extra Grief Seeds on hand, but she didn't want to give those to Mizuchi-san unless there was no other choice whatsoever - She'd been keeping those for emergencies, after all.]
- So I'll appreciate it a lot if you just could wait here for me, OK?
[And in the meanwhile, in another hospital room...]
[Len was looking at the picture, quizzically.]
- So this is the Princess of Evil, huh? She doesn't look much like those old illustrations in the musical versions, that's for sure...

"I probably won't be able to come back tonight, or possibly tomorow. But I'll be back as soon as I can" she kissed Nagisa's forehead "you be a good girl now"
"I promise, Mami neechan..."
"well here if a portrait of the princess a few years later once she waas crowned ruler" she showed a picture of a painting of Rin, looking high and mighty in a gold dress

[Nagisa waved, a sad expression on her face, as Mami transformed and jumped out of the window with a brave smile. She'd learned to read Mami's expressions pretty well by now, she thought - And though she didn't want to admit it, even to herself, her poor Senpai looked like she was planning to bravely go charging into the mouth of hell or something.]
[...And it was all Nagisa herself's fault, too. If she'd only known better then to waste her Wish on something like a piece of cake - ]
[But no, no, she couldn't afford to think about that right now. Her Mama was sick, and she needed her to be strong and brave.]
[...She just had to keep on chugging on, until this Mizuchi-san came, and fixed her Mama all up. Just like Nagisa herself should have, in the first place.]

[Len was shaking his head.]
...Boy, she does look all high and mighty, I must admit - But I still don't get what you seem to be all upset about, though. I mean, there must be plenty of people who looked like us, if we're going to go searching through history, right? I mean, there's no way to make sure unless we had a time machine or something, but...

- But why would that be so worrying? So we're related to the Terrible Princess of legend and her brother, though it's the first time I've heard of this brother, and we even look like them, but it's not like -
[And then, he paused, and slowly looked at Rin. Her eyes had glazed over even as they spoke, and then - ]

[And then, she collapsed on the bed again. The last thing she saw was her brother's worried face, looking down at her...]

[Rillanne shook her head, and pushed herself up. Her Soul Gem was spinning around on top of her, feeding her body energy, and she already was feeling better, though she was all sticky from the blood pooling beneath her.]
...Twins. Just as I thought they would be.
[She said, smirking, as she caught sight of the two little babies crying besides her. And then, she snarled, looking around the little cave they were in.]
[Where the hell was that stupid midwife that idiot husband of hers had called here, anyway? The children were still all bloody! ...Did they actually expect her to clean them up herself or something?]
[And then, she sighed. Well, it had been the day before her birthday when she'd went into labor, so...]

[She'd never thought she'd live to see her 20th birthday, to be honest.]

[She turned around, and started to follow the strange trickle of power. How odd - The energy actually smelled like caramel cake, for some strange reason...]
[And in the meanwhile...]
[Rin was sitting on a bench in the hospital gardens, grimancing.]
[What in the world was going on, anyway? That had to be about the 3rd or 4th time she'd just collapsed like that, in less then a month! No wonder the doctors wanted her to stay in the hospital for a checkup.]
[She'd thought things would return to normal once Mother came back, but apparently not. Their normally level-headed mother had come running back from her trip totally and utterly spooked.]
...So what if I look like the Princess of Evil, and Len looks like her Royal Servant? I had no idea Mama of all people was that - that superstious!
[Rin grumbled, twirling her hair around her fingers, and tried hard not the think about the weird dream she'd had right after her mother had started to talk about the Evil Princess and what she'd found in Europe. Why would she dream of giving birth in a cave of all places, anyway? Ewww!]
[Rin had no idea that magical energies were starting to leak out of her, and pool around her feet...]
