[And inside his dream, Allen looks at Rillanne, and stands up straight.]
...That is not good enough.
[Rillanne stares at him, devastiation in her eyes.]
- Allen!
[Allen does not relent.]
...Convince me. Convince me that the death of the green haired maiden is neccesary for the Kingdom, or even just neccesary for your survival -
[Rin, in the meanwhile, had stopped outside Len's room, the phone still in her hand.]
[...What were all those noises coming out of her brother's room, anyway?]
[And inside Len's dream...]
[Rillanne wipes her eyes, and then sits back on her chair, her eyes hooded. And then, she tells him, quietly and concisely, what would happen if they let the Blue Kingdom's Heir Apparent marry a Princess of the Green Kingdom, even a minor one - For that was who the green haired girl was. The Gold Kingdom and the Green Kingdom were closely situated to each other, and they tended not to get along too well at the best of times, as they both knew quite well already. The Gold Kingdom had no trouble holding their own agaist the Green Kingdom by themselves, quite the contrary, actually, but if the Green Kingdom officially allied themselves with the Blue Kingdom - The power balance would be utterly wrecked.]
"Then why must that mean her death!" he retorted "surely you could find a way to convince them not to marry! Or Just have her sent away or something! That is no reason to kill her! And starting this war, do you really intend to go this far just over some petty heartbreak! And besides, when have you ever cared of the state of political affairs and such, with the way you have been going! And if you let this go on, the blue and green kingdom would be against you anyway!" [What was going on with him? He has never talked this way to his sister before!
she just staed at him, then started laughing, madness definitely glinted now. "Oh Lenny. do you really think I am stupid? I know how you truly feel for that girl!" And then she slammed him against the wall, fingers around his throat "I have seen you two together! Te way you look at eactoher, those smiles, olding hands! She has not only stiolen the prince away1! She has stolen you away!!
[And then, Rillanne took her hand away from Allen's neck, panting.]
...Convince them not to marry?
[Rillanne whispers - And then, she begins to laugh, a thread of insanity running through her voice.]
- Have you taken leave of your senses utterly, brother mine?
[And then she looks at him, coldly.]
...And how were the Green Kingdom and the Blue Kingdom supposed to find out that the assasination had anything to do with us at all, pray? Did you actually expect me to go and gloat and tell everybody that we were the culprits, or something?
[And then she snarled at him again.]
Oh, I'm sure they would have all found it as suspicious as anything, but that's all they would have had, baseless suspicions. - And you don't really think that the Blue Kingdom or the Green Kingdom would actually go to war just because of a minor princess just happened to end up dead in somewhat suspicious circustances, do you now?
[But then, she turned away, her eyes hooded again.]
...But that's all under the bridge, Allen Avadonai. As you have it quite clear that I cannot trust you at all anymore - You are now formally free of all duties and responsibilities as a Royal Servant.
[And then she turned her back to them.]
...Go to the Head Servant, collect whatever money the Palace owes you for your service, and then -
"...Very well. Your majesty" He bowed and left, his face was blank and his voice cold, but inside his heart was breaking What was he doing? His sister... No. That was not his sweet sister anymore. This was just a heartless doll with her, their, face...
Rillianne stoo there equally cold and blank. What was she doing? Allen, the onyl one shee cared for, somewhat... no, that fool had made his descision and betrayed her! Well, any moment now, he would be running back and beg for her forgiveness. Well she would accept him, but he would be punished... But the moments passed and he was not coming back. finally, she cracked. She let out a horirble scream, just as loud as when she found out the prince changed his engaementt, and drove her fists onto the mirror, cracking the glass and drawing blood form her delicate hands. She screamed and laughed and cried Len's name, as a pair of beady red eyes watched form the window.....
[Allen collected his back pay, got his few possesions together, and got on his horse.]
[Surely...Surely Rillanne would come to her senses, once he was gone...]
[It had to mean something that Allen himself, of all people, had told her that she was doing the wrong thing, and had even left her to drive the point across.]
[...It did, right?]
[....................Right?]
[...And anyway, it wasn't like the Ministers or Great Nobles would ever let her do anything really insane, like just invading the Green Kingdom or something - Of that, he was pretty sure, anyway. One had to be thankful for small favors at least, he supposed...]
[And in the meanwhile...]
[Rin had wiped her eyes, and was now staring at the windows. Rain had begun to fall from the darkened skies...]
[And then, there was a cough behind her.]
...My lady! Oh, there you were...
[The Minister of War smiled at her, his hands claps in front of him.]
- Have you thought about what I have said, the last time we met?
[And then he leaned closer to her, and whispered -]
- I give you my word, Milady - We can destroy the Green Kingdom's army utterly in less the two months, and I will personally make sure it happens in a timely fashion.
[And then, he smiled at her.]
Wouldn't it be wonderful to not have to worry about the Greens on our doorstep, ever again? And once we had added the Green territories to our lands - Why, we'll actually have a seaport! A fully functional one, too!
[And then, he looked at the rain, too.]
...Oh, please, Milady - Just give me the word! There wouldn't even be any need to kill off all the Green Kingdom Royals, quite the contrary, in fact - Things would work out wonderfully if you could just make one of the Green Princes your Royal Consort, for example...
"He sighed, and did not look back" "Good bye...Rillianne...." And off he went to the villaige. hopefully Michela should still be in town. He would confess her feelings for her, and they would go off and tart a new life toetehr...
Rillinna sneered at him "No! Prince Kyle is mine, remember! Even f I have to make him! " "Er, well all right... hm, where is Allen by the way?" And the minister was shoved against the ewall even with her tiny size "his name.. shall never, be mentioned agaon..." she hissed dnagerously
[And near a certain village filled with people with very beautiful green hair, which was mostly known for being where the Green Kingdom had started out originally, or so the legends said...]
[A white haired lass looked at the young man coming down the road on his horse, and blinked.]
[...Haah?]
[....What in the world was he doing here? It wasn't like Michelle lived here any more - She'd been gone for almost six weeks!]
[And in the Gold Kingdom's castle...]
[The Minister of War sighed, and slowly moved away from the irate princess, no, Queen - He really did have to remind himself that she actually was his Queen, no matter how childishly she acted sometimes, or who her father was (that bloody annoying upstart).]
[...And no matter how demented she was acting at the moment.]
...But Milady?
[He said, eventually, trying to calm her down.]
- Since it does seem you do not wish the marry any of the Green Princes yourself - It has occured to me that...Maybe Allen?
[Actually, that was a very good idea, now that he thought about it. They could just return Allen's Royal title, and marry him off to one of the Green Princesses - Maybe even that troublesome minor princess that seemed to be causing them so much trouble.]
[Ha ha ha - That would serve that damn Blue Prince right, now that he thought about it. Oh, he hadn't really thought that Prince Kyle and Princess - Queen Rillanne were any kind of good match at all, but - How dare he just turn her down just because he'd fallen for some Green lowborn who could barely be considered Royalty in the first place, anyway, no matter how pretty she was? Even Rillanne herself was better born then that, since her parents had been officially married, at least, after all. It was the principle of the thing, really...]
[Allen found the house he knew Michela lived and worked at. He stopped and tied up his horse. and knocked on the door. When The white haired girl opened the door he asked] "Excuse me. Is Michelle here? I really need to see her, it is important."
[and the the minister shrunk back at the frightening look the princess gave him at that suggestion. Oh right, she had jsut aid never t mention Allen again . just ehat hadhappened between them? She turned her head and looked out thr window] "..Makesure the kingdom of green is badly stirred..."
[Clair made a face, and glared at the young blond man. Allen, on the other hand, couldn't help staring at her - The white haired girl looked awful, like she'd been crying and moping for weeks or something!]
...Miss Claire?
[He eventually said, gently.]
- What happened?
[Claire sniffed, and wiped her eyes again.]
...What do you mean, what happened? Michelle and Lord Kyle are getting married, that's what happened! And now she's at the Capital, getting ready for their formal betrothal, and...And I'll probably never, ever get to see her again...
[And then she sat down at the table, and started to cry, softly. Allen stared at her again, and offered her one of his handkerchiefs, blankly.]
[And in the meanwhile, back in the Gold Kingdom, a few days before Allen reached the village...]
[Finally!]
[The Minister of War felt a trimphant smile come over his face. He gave his liege a graceful bow, actually trying to be gracious just this once.]
"but I do not undertand, you are Micehala's best friend. Why are you not with her?" "Well I wanted to be by her side, and so did she. But they took her away by force, stranding me here..." she sobbed "How could they! We must go there then, beofre the wedding!"
[And the minister left. Well if it did not work out with her, well there were advantages of her having an identical twin to use as a puppet in her place...
Rillianne was still brooding , cradling the special neeklace allen had given her for their birthday...oh allen, that... how could he..." "Hello." a calm voice said. She looked up and saw an odd rabbit like creature on the table, white white fur, two pairs of huge ears and tail and red and purple markings and beady red eyes "What..? did you just spek? What ar you?" It did seem familiar. She could remember a time, ome years ago... was it right before or after she was separated form Allen...? "My name is Sanbei, and I have been watching you, Princess rillianne Lucifiene Dautriche. " it hopped off and padded over to her. It was fairly cute, tough somehting eeriea bout it "You have great latent magical potential, just the kind we have been looking for. So we have an offer to make. how would you like to become a magcial girl?"
