"Well let's go! we have got to find it!" As she got up, she noticed the frustrated Hanako. Her soul gem was already a bit darker. Odd, wasn't it just cleaned? Even if the grief seed from a familiar provided less energy form a full witch one. Maybe she should receive the grief seed reward...
They headed off, picking up the trail again]

[And so Miku looked at Hanako, and shook her head.]

...Hey, Hanako-san - You can have that Grief Seed too, OK?

[Hanako stared at her, and then at her Soul Gem.]

- What the hell, why does it keep getting black so quickly, nowadays?

[She grumbled, but then turned toward Miku, looking a bit embarrased.]

...Are you sure, though? I mean, I just used up one of yours...

[Hmmm. Miku looked at her own Soul Gem, then, and sweatdropped a little. Darn - It had been as clean as a whistle, just this morning, too!]

...Um. Sorry for going back on my words, but - Is it OK if we share it?

[And Hanako nodded at that, with a big relieved smile.]

- Of course, Miku-san! ...And maybe we can share the next one too, since we're hunt the Witch together...


[In the meanwhile, on the stage...]

[Rin was biting her lip as they rested between songs.]

[Something strange and weird was happening, and the strangest thing was that it felt so familiar, like something she'd dreamed about for ages or something.]

[Something was missing, though. Something she needed quite badly.]

[And Rin smiled as her hands closed around something that looked like a long colorful multicolored ribbon connected to a baton. Oh, yes, this was what she wanted - Or part of what she wanted, anyway!]

[And then, it was time to so sing again, and Rin stood up with a grin.]

...OK, Len, let's go!

[Len, on the other hand, was staring at his sister.]

[...Wait a moment, wait a moment...Where had that baton thing with the ribbons just appeared from, anyway? He would have noticed if something like that had been in the changing room already, right? ]

[th twins start to notice something is wrong now, with the crowd. The crowd seem to be getting angrier. Fights are even breaking out amongst eachother, and soon it becomes a full riot. One could almost feel negative sentiment rising ematnating from it.]
"Whats going on? What
s the ruckus for?" Rin asked in confusion.
Len grabbed his sister protectively "come on Rin, we have to get out of here, before we get hurt in the crossfire!"
"Right!" They scuttled off stage "Maybe we should head home, and call miku... hope she's ok...
"Just what started this anyway_" Len was interupted by the manager suddenly tackling him, his eyes clouded as if in a trance,, but with fury. There was an odd mark upon his neck
"LEN!!!" rin tried to pull him off

[Rin grabbed the manager and pulled him off her twin, quite literally throwing him into the wall in the process.]

...Len! Are you OK!?

- Yes, yes of course...

[Len coughed.]

But I'm not sure if Yoshimoto-san is, though...

- I don't give a damn about him!

[Rin huffed, but then breathed a sigh of relief when she went to see the manager, and found out he was still breathing normally.]

[And in the meanwhile...]

...Miku-chan will always be our goddess, damn you!

[A fan said, smashing another fan's face with his baton.]

- Oh, shut up, she's old news now - Rin-chan and Len-kun all the way!

[Another fan countered, smashing back with his bag full of fan merchentise.]

[Len groaned as he saw what was happening.]

...What the heck is happening here!? Was there something in the water? Or the air?

[And that was when Rin's eyes narrowed.]

[A fan was heading right for them, her eyes a bright scarlet - And she was armed with a broken bottle, aimed right for Len's throat!]

...I will get rid of this blight for you, our drearest Miku-san...

[She whispers, holding the jagged edges of the bottle up - And charges!]

[And that was when Rin's eyes glowed a bright gold.]

...Oh no you don't!

[And the magical energy starts to glow around her, twirling like a wave...]

[Rin charged over and tackled i nto the fan, yelling, and knocked the bottle out of her hand, and punched her] "DONT YOU DARE KTRY TO KILL MY BROTHER YOU PSYCHO!!" She noticed the same marking on her neck as their managers. Like a spiral swirl pattern. "What is this? Some freaky brainwashhign experiment?!"
[The scenery around her changed and shimmered into what looked like some sort of twisted chemist lab, with runes floating about. High little warbling noises were heard as colorful bubble blobs bounced towards them]

[Rin quickly stood up, holding out her ribbon baton in front of her.]

...Get behind me, Len!

[Len, on the other hand, was more worried about the fan who had just tried to kill him. The girl was now crumpled on the floor, though she did seem to be still breathing when he crawled over to her to check.]

- Oh, good, she's not dead...

[He said, and then looked around them...]

[...And at Rin.]

[Len shook his head, wondering if he was the one who had been knocked unconsious, not the poor deluded fangirl.]

...Rin?

[He said gently, and tried to get up, wobbling.]

...Where are we?

[And then he took a deep breath.]

- And when did you have time to change clothes?

[He put a hand to his forehead, feeling something hot dripping down. He was bleeding, yes - This wasn't good, he thought, somehow.]

...You look like...You look like you're wearing a grown up version of one of those Magical Girl costume we used to play games in, or something...

"Eh?" she looked down and saw that a shiny yellow frilly dress had indeed appeared on her "How did this happen? I don't remember putting it on1 It's still very nice anyway!" She noticed his injury "Oh no! Len, you're hurt!" She took a ribbon off of her dress and wrapped in around his head, bandaging it
"Thanks Rin, but I'll be fine.... but, I think those blobs are coming near us. And I dont think theyr'e friendly..."
[They notced the fluffy white creature in the corner]

...So you've managed to get your costume back, and your magical baton, too...

[The Kyubey sighed, and then hopped over to the twins.]

- But what about your Soul Gem, Rin Who Used To Not Have A Family Name Anymore?

[Rin stared at him - And then, almost crumpled to the ground, holding her chest.]

...Owwww...

[Something seemed to be forcing her way up through her body, right through her chest...]

Kyyubey's ear flaps were placed on her chest during this"Ah, there we go. " Kyuubey said, , almost cheerfully as a glowing yellow light emerged from her chest.
:What are you doing to her!!" Len said, then cried out are her felt a connecting pain in his chest. The light formed into a shimmering yellow gem with a gold trimming.
"Your soul gem. Receive it and accept your destiny!"

[Rin groaned, and tried to push the Kyubey away.]

- I've done that already, and gotten to T-shirt too, you stupid white dumbass!

[She then fell over, grabbing the Soul Gem as she fell.]

...Damn it...

[She whispered, as a she saw a thread of darkness already twirling through her Soul Gem.]

- What the heck? All I did was transform once, and summon my baton!

[Well, that was what she'd thought she'd done, anyway, but...]

[Rin groaned, holding her head - And that was when she realized she'd half fallen on top of Len.]

...Sorry, Len, I -

[Rin looked up at her twin, then, her eyes widening as her past life memories and current memories all started to churn together in her head.]

- A - A - Allen???

"It's ok Rin. are you ok, you were in pain, and that light_" he froze as Rin fell over, clutching her head, shaking. All those memories of her former life, playingut like a clear movie, every detail, from the happy moments of their childhood, to the final years, filled with cruelty, rage and sorrow. Like her soul was broken in half as her twin perished in her place, leaving her hollow. the forgiveness, but still sorrow, then the fluffy white creature, the wish, trying for atonement and helping people, battling a monster, then just walking in a wite space for a long while, until she found him, they were reunited and one again, then the new life began....]

"Rin! What's wrong! snap out of it!" The blobs neared closer, jumping at them with a warling screech. It exploded into jelly as a teal energy blasted through them
"Phew! Just in time!" Miku approached them in ehr magical girl attired "Sorry to see that you two got stuck here!"

[Rin looked up at Miku, irritably, and shook her head.]

...Michelle? What the fraggles are you doing here, you're supposed to be long, long dead, you stupid twin-stealing bit...

[And then she blinked, shaking her head. No, wait, this wasn't...]

[Miku, in the meanwhile, was looking at Rin, her eyebrows raising. What?]

[Rin, in the meanwhile, was muttering to herself, softly.]

- So wait, so that's why I went so nuts about that stupid green haired girl? ...I'd almost stopped caring about Prince Kyle by the end, but Allen...Allen...

[And then she shook her head, and stook up straight, her magical baton in her hands.]

...Oh, hell, I don't have time for this, right now.

[She then turned toward Miku and Hanako, and gave both of them a cold grin.]

- Hey, the two of you - I need some Grief Seeds ASAP, so let's just go with finders keepers this time, all right? Whoever gets the Witches first gets the Grief Seeds, no ifs or buts.

[Miku stared at her, then. So did Hanako.]

...Wait...You mean there's more then one Witch in here???

[Hanako muttered, eventually.]

And then it dawned on Miku finally "so, you are a magical girl too, rin? Wow! All this time!" Miku hugged her.
Len shook his head "What are you all talking about now!"
"No time Len! We have to defeat the monster who is the cause of this mess!"
"Well, yes, of course we should go, and you explain after... But how are we going to kill a monster! Plus Rin is ill!"

[Rin turned toward Hanako with an irritated groan.]

- Yeah, yeah, there're at least 2 Familiars ripe enough to drop Grief Seeds in here, and maybe a third one, too - Couldn't you tell?

[And then she turned back toward Miku, an annoyed expression on her face.]

...Oh, stop it, you...

[She said, pushing Miku aside - Darn this former life business, now she couldn't even figure out what she was supposed to be feeling about Miku of all people!]

[...But she was still herself, anyway, and that was a plus, she supposed.]

[- But was that "herself" Kagamine Rin, or Rillanne?]

[Oh, damn it, she didn't have time for all that right now, though - ]

[And so she turned toward Len, sighing yet again, and looked into his eyes.]

...Don't worry about it, Len - I'm all right, now.

[Len stared at her, blinking.]

...Really?

[And Rin nodded.]

- Yes, really.

[And in the meanwhile, the Kyubey was looking at Len, thinking.]

[Hmmm...Maybe it was about time to try experimenting with creating Puer Magi, again? Oh, he hadn't forgotten why they'd stopped doing that in the first plac,e but - The boy did seem to have a rather high amount of potential, after all!]

[And it would be - interesting - to see if that would have any effect on this reincarnated version of Rin, too, he did have to admit...

[Miku tilted her head. Why was rin being so rude a the moment? Was she suddenly in a bad mood about something ? Well, now wasn't the best time to ponder about it.] "All rught then. Let's go!" She started off down the Hanako was frowning at Rin. So,, she was one as well. She never particular ly did like Rin much, after that ruckus she once caused which ruined a ortion of her garden and scared poor Anthony... such a rude girl. Her brother was much nicer and considerate.]


[Actually, maybe it wasn't so much the fact he had potential as the interesting fact that he was a twin to a magical gir tht would have to be studied. Sure there were magical girls who were part of a pair of twins , or both twins, before, that yoelded very interesting results. But this was the first he knew of in which the other twin was a male...]

[And in the meanwhile, Rin was shaking her head as she made herself stand up. She turned toward Hanako and Miku, rubbing her eyes.]

- Come on, both of you - We can talk later, let's just get those Witches first, all right? I need those Grief Seeds right now pronto, damn it!

[And then, she posed, turning her magical ribbon baton into something that looked more like a web. Yes, yes, she was starting to remember how to do this, now...]

[Kyubey, on the other hand, was wondering how he should try setting things up. Trying to make a Contract with Rin's brother right this instant probably wasn't a good idea, since he was pretty sure Rin herself wouldn't like that idea at all, but he could at least try talking to the boy, he supposed...]

[And so he walked up to Len, smiling his empty smile.]

- Hello, I'm called Kyubey! And you are?

[Le was slowly getting back to conciousnes. Well Rin seemed all right now, but she was talking nonsense noww? and here came Miku and her cousin gumi's friend Hanako...
He looked up at the little white creture and its unncerving gaze.] "you..." He grabbed it by the scruff of the fluffy neck "What did you do to Rin!!"
"Oh, I simply re enabled her role and abilities as a magical girl, as she regained her memories of her past life.] Kyuubey said idly

[Len stared at Kyubey, and then sighed again.]

...There are no such things as actual real Magical Girls, you stupid brioche thing -

[He muttered, and then closed his eyes.]

- Oh, great - So I'm trapped yet again in a stupid nightmare that makes no sense whatsoever, is that it?

[And in the meanwhile, Rin, Miku and Hanako have teamed up, and have managed to defeat the first Witch easily.]

[Rin crows as she grabs the Grief Seed, and does not waste any time before she sticks it to her own Soul Gem.]

...Hey, hey, hey -

[Hanako says, her hands to her waist.]

- We hadn't decided what to do with that Grief Seed, you know that!?

[Rin, in the meanwhile, is sighing with relief as the murkiness drains out of her Soul Gem.]

...Yeah, whatever - Look, this one seems to have been a upgraded Familiar anyway, so stop complaining.

[And then she smiled a bit, feeling better already.]

...You two can have first dibs on the other ones, OK?

""You can't just barge in and take it like that!! " Hanako protested . Rin ignored her as they carried on. they defeated the second weaker witch. Finally, they got to the final witch. a strange floating green good formed into a female shape with long hair and tentacles. the runes above her read 'Claudia'

[Kyubey looked at Len, who still had his eyes closed, and blinked his scarlet
eyes, slowly.]

[So he had strange nightmares, eh? Interesting, indeed!]

...What kind of nightmares are you talking about?

[And in the meanwhile, where the battle was taking place...]

[Miku looked around her, and then handed over the Grief Seed that had dropped from the second Witch over to Hanako with a wink.]

...Hey, you use this, OK?

[Hanako sighed.]

- Thanks, Miku - You can have the next one, if you want.

[She then looked at her Gem, groaning.]

...Why the heck does it get murky so quickly these days, anyway?

[Rin overheard that, and narrowed her eyes. Uh, oh...That didn't sound good at all.]

lLen shrugged "recuring nightmares tragedy in that in were like 18th century and rin was a tyranical princess and I her loyal servant. We even wrote a series of songs and music videos about it..]


"Maybe theres something wrong wiht oyur soul gm?" Miku suggested "you should ask Kyubey!"
"yes.., I should... I cna't lose this power.. I can't lose my children!" [Hanako momentarily looked a bit mad]
"you,r children?"
"My precious flowers...]
"Oh, right. No, you have a lovely power! Here is the grief seed"

[The Kyubey smiled again at Len's words - Oh, my, this was interesting indeed!]

[He couldn't wait to see what would happen, once Len was a Puer Magi - And he was going to do his best to make sure Len would become one, by hook or by crock, that was for sure...]

[And someplace different in the Witch Barrier...]

[Rin sighed at that, and waved her hand.]

...Just cleanse the damn thing, all right?

[So these two didn't know about Magical Girls turning into Witches thing yet, is seemed...]

[Damn that Kyubey.]

[She wondered whether she should talk to Miku and Hanako about what she knew, then. Well, not right now, of course, but soon.]

[But on the other hand - Knowing about that might actually make them fall to despair even faster, too, now that she thought about it. Damn, this was confusing - So how had she dealt with this kind of thing in her former life, again?]

[And then she smiled a bit. Well, at least she didn't have to worry about Kyubey going after Len - She'd never heard of a male Puella Magi, after all!]

[Hanako tried to wash off her gem with the seed, siging, feeling a bit of relief. She would deal with rin's rudeness later.
"Well then, let's take care of the witch!"
[The witch named Claudia shrieked and swooped down at them. The battle began.
Len watched aghast. This was an odd dream. And it really was like one of those magical girl scenes.
Ah yes, Kyubey remembered this one. She wished to be a sucessful chemist. Of course she did end up as what humans considered a 'mad scientist' , eded up with a terrible accident with acids before falling into despair and becoming her witch Claudia...]

[Rin groaned as she saw that the blobs had actually managed to melt off part of her Magical Girl outfit, burning holes through some of the ribbons and her shoulder guard.]

...Well, damn. Be careful, everybody - This one looks like it'll be more difficult then I thought it'll be at first...

[Hanako and Miku both nodded at that, though Miku did think it a bit strange that Rin-chan seemed to have so much experience about this kind of thing.]

[So just when had she made the Contract, anyway?]

[And then, the three Puella Magi attacked Claudia in a full frontal attack!]

[Kyubey, in the meanwhile, blinked as he saw one of Claudia's Familiars go creeping out of the Witch Barrier. He turned away from Len, following the Familiar with his beady red eyes - How odd, that a Familiar would run away at a time like this of all thing...]

[And that was when he realized that the Familiar was very near to being upgraded enough to have a Grief Seed of it's own.]

[Hmmm...So it probably could survive on it's own with very little problems, but...]

[Len turned to kyuubey] "what are thoe things, where are we? so, maybe this is a dream so it doesnt matter, but still..]
Kyubey flicked its ears casually "That is a witch, and her familiars. A witch is a being created from despair. As for this place, it is her domain, a distortion in space. Humans could have the misfortune of stumbling into a witch's lair, and seldom make it out. you are fortunate that your sister and friend are magical girls who are destined to battle these witches."


[Hanako noticed the familiar crawling away and it's growth] "oh no you don't!" [She summoned a large flower to gwallow it up. It did take a up a good portion of her energy. But even worse, the familair was not high enough point to leave a grief seed. she groaned.] "why, is it the point to kill familiars... if I don't get anything from it, and when I do it's not much..."
[Rin and Miku continued battling. Claudia attacked with sprays of acids, and liquid tentacles]
