But by now, Rin was aware of and acceoted that Len probably had ffeelings for Miku. It was all right, she was their best friend, so she knew and trusted her.... but why did it still subcnsouliy bother her?
They watched her perform happily.

- Hello, everybody!

[Miku grinned, as she came up onto the stage.]

[She just loved this moment, she really did, with her fans cheering her on and on.]

[She was so so so glad she'd met Kyubey that day, she thinks, as she waves her hand toward her fans...]

After a few energizing songs, miku unleashed her surprise. She activated her soul gem and changed into her magical girl outfit of a shiny teal dress with a frilly skirt and heart emblems large red hair ribbons and ribbon laced shoes.in a dazzling glimmer. Most people including her staff assumed it was part of a special effect quick outfit change

[Rin, on the other hand, blinked as she saw Miku's costume change, feeling suddenly dizzy.]

...Oh, Miku...

[She whispered, biting her lip.]

- Do you have any idea what you've actually done!?

[And then she grabbed Len's arm, blinking even more.]

[...No, wait...What the heck was that, anyway? Miku's costume change had been pretty darn nifty, but...]

[.......So why was she talking to herself, again?]

Len brok his gaze away form Miku and looked over at his sister in concern "Rin'? Something wrong?"
She shook her head "Sorry I just, got a little dizzy for a moment, I think...
"Do you want to head inside and sit down?"

...Yes, please...

[Rin grabbed Len's arm again, and then they both walked away from the concert. The nearby park benches were all taken by the cheering fans, so they walked about 5 minutes until they reached a fountain in a secluded area.]

[Rin, in the meanwhile, was rubbing her eyes as she walked. She sat down on the fountain's edge with a groan of relief, and covered her eyes with her handkerchief.]

[...So what was that white round thing that kept sliding in and out of her line of vision, anyway? It looked like some kind of walking stuffed animal, or something!]

[She gave a sigh] "This concert is taking longer then I thought. Do you think she even remembered about our birthdays? Or is she too busy for us now tha she's getting famous. She hasn't even introduced yet to her producers like she promised@"
"Don't say that! Even if she's getting famous, we're all best friends. she wouldn't leave us. She's just, got a lot on her mind... this is her dream after ll. but yeah, why did a concert have to be tonight, on our birthday... But anyway. I have an idea.how about I give you your gift now??"
"Oh? ok, sure! I'll give you mine too!" They pulled out small gift boxes from their pockets "Uou open first"
"No, you do."
"Hm, how about we open together?"
"Ok! One, two," They opened eacothers gifts, which both turned out to be the same gold necklaces, the one for rin had a treble clef on it, and Len's had a basss cleff. Incidentally, they had gottren them from the same antique store.

- Hahahahahaa!

[Rin started to laugh as she realized that they must have brought their presents at the very same antique store.]

...Thank you so much, Len - I'd really wanted to buy that one, too, but I'd maxed out my allowance and then some!

" I knew it would fit you. It's just perfect for you." He smiled and put it around her neck
"I felt the same about yours" She did the same , putting the necklace around his neck "Like, you were meant to have it."
Indeed, this did feel nostalguc. A faint glimse of memory of this same exchange, outisde a ball room, she in an orgnate dress and tiara... She suddenly hugged him tightly

[And that was when the white something flickered through her line of vision again.]

...Ouch...

[She groaned, as she felt a sudden headache coming on.]

...What is this, anyway?

[And then, she slumped over Len, groaning. Len grabbed her in alarm as she crumpled.]

- Rin! What's...What's wrong!?

[And then, he turned toward where she'd been looking at, and froze.]

...Why is a red eyed stuffed animal watching both of us?

[He whispered, eventually - And then, almost fell off the bench when the strange critter that looked like a white stuffed animal blinked it's eyes at him, slowly.]

...So you're not even a girl, and you can see me anyway.

[The thing said, eventually.]

- Curious indeed.

[Ln stiffened, holding Rin close to m protctively] .. what ar you. What do you wnat with us. [Sur th thing was fairly cute and and fluffy , but there was something awfully eerie and not right about this creature...]

[The Kyubey shrugged, then.]

I'm called Kyubey, and as for what I am...

[And then he snickered.]

- That is a secret, ha ha ha!

[And then Kyubey's pick tipped ears twitched, and he turned around. Oh, what a bother...And just when something interesting seemed to have turned up, too!]

[If he hadn't gotten it wrong, and he was pretty sure he hadn't - A Witch was heading right toward the concert, with a Puella Magi in hot pursuit!]

"you didn't answer what you wanted with us."
[Rin rcovered a bit and stared at the kyuuby] "you.. I know you.. we've met befor"
"Indeed, we have. About 200 earth yars ago. And now here you are, reunited with your brother, as wished."
"What ar eyou tlaking about? 200 yars? And Len and I hav always been together!"
"So your memoris have not rturned yet. I'm sure they will soon, but no matter. It is time for th nxt stp."

[And in the meanwhile, still on stage...]

[Miku was biting her lip.]

[Uh, oh - Yes, that was a Witch heading their way, all right, and there was also a Puella Magi's energy signature, heading right after it!]

[This had to be dealt with, and dealt with now. She took a deep breath, and waved her hand while her manager goggled at her.]

- Everybody, thank you, thank you! And now, I'm afraid we'll have to have a short recess - See you in fifteen minutes!

[Her fans blinked, muttering among themselves.]

...Hey, this isn't part of the program, right? Our break was supposed to be two songs later!

- What the heck is going on, here?

"Miku, what's going on?" The amangaer asked"
"I'm sorry, I guest received a text form my friends, an emergency cam up! Go on with the intermission, I'll be back soon!" she waved and skipped off, heading deep into the park following the trail.
She picked up the trial of anothr magical girl, and soon spotted hr, a girl about her age with long leaf green hair with roses and butterfly clips, and wearing a flowing cream and green dress with more flower and butterfly themes

[And in the meanwhile, the manager had been wringing his hands.]

...Oh, no! Why does Miku-chan keep doing this!?

It's not like she's just a wannabe singer anymore - She has fans coming over from all over Japan, now, and they're begining to trickle in from overseas, too!

But she just keeps disappearing at odd times, over and over, all the time...

[And he walked away from the concert, wondering if there was any way he could find Miku, and convince her to come back and sing on schedule again.]

[And that is when he caught sight of the Kagamine twins, and blinked. Hey, he knew those people - They were Miku's friends, right?]

[And that is when a brainstorm hit him.]

...Hey, the two of you!

[He called out, and started to walk toward them.]

- You're the Kagamine Twins, right? The thing is, we're in a bit of a pickle right now, and I'll appreciate it a lot if you could help us out!

[Len stared at him, and then back at where the white red eyed thing had been. It was gone, like it had never been there in the first place.]

...Mr Yoshimoto? But...Um, aren't you supposed to stay around where Miku-chan's concert is?

[And then, Mr Yoshimoto the manager sighed, and leaned closer to them, whispering.]

- Oh, you see, Miku-chan seems to have decided to take one of her breaks again, and I really had no idea what to do, but then, I had an idea!

[And then he smiled at them.]

...If she doesn't come back in about 10 minutes or so, we're going to have people from the audience come up too, and sing either Miku's songs covers or their own original songs, I don't care which, actually, as long as they're good singers.

[And then, he leaned closer to them, smiling.]

- So are you interested, Kagamine Rin-san and Len-san?

[Len blinked] "What do you mean?"
"We want you to sing for the audience unil Miku returns. You two both are very good singers and dancers.]
rin sat up , rubbing her eyes "are you sure? well yes, we'd love to!" She seems to have forgoteen about her fainting spell, and the mysterious creature.
"Great! Follow this way then."




Meanwhile Miku raised her eyebrows in surprise as she finally recognized the girl from her friend Gumi's gardening club"Hanako Mitsuri? Is that you?"
"Ah, you are Miku Hastune?" The girl frowned " You are a magiical girl?"
"Yes, i am!"
"I see... somehow that is not surprisin..."
"How have you ben? Gumi-chan said that you haven't been to the gardening club lately..."
"I hav been busy with issues at home, and magiclall girl duties. I don't want to talk about it..." She seemed a bit in disarray

[Rin and Len follow the maneger back to the backstage areas, and are surprised to see that he has some costumes that fit them, already.]

...Oh, Miku-chan had those made - She said she wanted to give you two a chance to get on the stage, too, if we could manage to fit it inside our schedule!

[He then blinked.]

...She did say she wanted to talk about it with the two of your personally first, though, not just spring it on you like this...

[Len nodded at that, grinning.]

- Oh, that's so much like Miku-san, she was always such a considerate person - And it's not like we'd say no, after all!

[And then he looked at his sister.]

...Right, Rin?

[Rin, in the meanwhile, has been rubbing her head again, muttering to herself.]

...You've really made a mess of things this time, haven't you, you stupid little white roll-thing...

[And outside in the gardens, Miku was tilting her head.]

...But Mitsui-san...What's wrong? You look so tired...

[She then puts her hand inside her pocket, and takes out a Grief Seed.]

- Maybe this would help?

Len frowned "rin? Are you all right? Does your head still hurt?"
She shook her head "Hm? What?"
"you were out of it. If you're feeling unwell, we don't have to go on. "



"I'm fine! I don't need it!" hanako barked , moving on.
"O-ok, I was only trying to help..." Miku was taking about
"I don't need your help..." the other magical girl knelt near some flowers and stroked them "the flowers are frightened.. evil is near... or maybe it is from the pollution coming..." She sprinkkled some magic on them, making them more vivid "thats better,,,

[Rin shook her head at that, determinatingly.]

No, no, no - Of course we're going to do this, I'll be damned if we just let a big chance like this drift away like that!

[And then she blinked again, a cold shudder passing through her. But she was damned either way, however things rolled right?]

[...And then, she shook her head. Damn it, this was no time be getting so spacey...]

[And so she turned toward the maneger, and grinned, giving him a cute mock salute.]

...We'll do it, Yoshimoto-san! Just leave it up to us!

[Len nodded at that, relieved, and so they both changed into their costumes, and put their stage makeup on.]

- Hmmm...

[Rin whispered, looking through the music sheets.]

Which song should we sing, I wonder...

[And outside in the gardens...]

[Miku looked at Hanako, and took a deep breath.]

...Hey, Hanako-san?

[Hanako's head whipped around as Miku make some pom-poms with her magic, shaking them in front of Hanako's face - And then, she almost toppled over as Miku reached down, holding the spare Grief Seed against Hanako's Soul Gem while she was distracted.]

...Hey, hey, hey - Hatsune Miku, what the heck do you think you're doing -

[And then she sank to the ground, Miku falling on top of her, as the dark murkiness was drawn out of her Soul Gem.]

[...And then she blinked, the flowers blooming around her. She was feeling better already, and her magic was rising around her, making the plants grow even as she watched.]

"'Gemini' or 'Butterfly on the right shoulder' is always a classic for us" Rin commnted, looking them over " Im glad she included our songs in the list thoug. and that she was going to have us sing..."
"I wonder where she is? I hope she's ok..


"Ah! There we go! Better!" Miku smiled "though it seems it was the last form that grief seed, all used up. We'll have to find Kyuubey to dispose of it before it gets contaminated.
"Hatsune san, you didn't have to do that... but thank you.." feeling more refreshed She sighed and brushed a lock of leafy green hair out of her eyes. Her eyes were often hidden behind her hair before, she was timid and not very social. Her confidence has grown since acquiring her power though.
"you are welcome! So, what do you say we tem up for this witch? And we can hang out and have fun afetrwards?" She held out a hand
"..very well" Hanako shook it.
After they took up the trail again, a pair of certain emotionaless pink eyes stared after them. Sure, this rose and butterfly magical girl was reenergized for now. but she was already reaching the emotional stress point where her soul gem would start getting darker much faster... it was only a matter of time before she would break

[And then, it was time for Rin and Len to sing!]

[Yoshimoto-san sighed, looking at his watch.]

...So she's going to be late, yet again. I have no idea what to do with you, Miku-chan...It's not like you can get away with doing stuff like this for ever, and you should know it!

[Len looked at him, and smiled, trying to make Miku's manager feel better.]

- I'm sure she has a good reason for running off like that, Yoshimoto-san - Miku-chan isn't the sort to just run off and - and go play video games or something, right?

[The manager sighed, rubbing his head.]

...Well, I didn't think she was, but - With the way she keeps disappearing these days...

[And outside in the gardens...]

[Miku looked at her watch, and groaned.]

- Oh, darn - I'm going to be late again, aren't I? It's already almost 15 minutes, and we haven't even started the battle proper, yet...

[She did hope that her manager could do something to fill the gaps in, but it wasn't like she could go running back now, she was pretty sure. It wouldn't do if some Witch went and started to nibble at her fans, after all!]

[And in the meanwhile...]

[The Kyubey had turned away from the Puella Magi, and had started to head for the stage.]

...You lasted an awefully long time for a Magical Girl, Rin Who Used To Be A Queen, I do remember that.

[He mused, as he ambled along.]

- But that was because your Wish quite literally wouldn't let you go Witch, as long as it wasn't granted yet - Or that's what I think was happening, anyway.

[And then, he got on a water fountain, and watched the Twins come up on the stage.]

- But now, it has been granted, correct? Your brother has been reborn, and so have you, and now both of you are together again...

[And then his mouth twitched, and then settled into a smile.]

...What an interesting experiment this is - I haven't had so much fun in centuries!
